Do you think I can take my 2 wheel drive hatchback up that road? It has 14 inch tires, and 6 inches of ground clearance. It's a Mitsubishi Mirage.

I would highly not recommend it. You could probably make it to the top, but you are going to be scraping all the way up. The road conditions change a lot as rocks wash out onto the trail and ruts form. With a small car like that, you're just asking for trouble, in my opinion.

Okay, that sounds good! Thanks! I don't want to mess up my new car. It's a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage ES. If it was a normal dirt road I would do it, but if it is any type of hard to do, then I won't. So I won't. (: @@oc-wk236

Is it ok for a Raptor or to narrow? Also should air down? What's the recommendation?
@oc-wk2365 ай бұрын
You will be totally fine with a Raptor. Airing down would just be for comfort at that point. F250s go up all the time to work on the towers.

@@oc-wk236 thanks. Do you recommend any other trails for beginners? Especially when we get some rain and mud.
@oc-wk2365 ай бұрын
Most of Cleveland National Forest will close at the slightest hint of rain. The Rangers do this to protect the trails from getting rutted out. If you want mud, try Azuza Canyon.

FYI, at 25:10, if you had gone left then right, there used to be a house for the fire lookout who lived up there. You can still see the foot print of the two buildings they had. The lookout used to be ON the peak itself then was moved to where the big AT&T building is now, then when that was built was placed on top of the AT&T building. If you look at the structure you can tell where it was.

I'll have to remember that next time I go up. I completely replaced the entire suspension on the Jeep, so I should make a super smooth ride.

@@oc-wk236 Heck ya! We went and drove around Geology Tour rd.
@oc-wk2365 жыл бұрын
@@kalocals3212 Nice, I have done Geology Tour and Berdoo Canyon in the past too, but during this trip, they were closed due to the snow. I have to say, Brooklyn Mine Jeep Trail was much harder, and more fun, than Geology and Berdoo. The last 2 miles was all boulders and shelves. The mines out there are amazing as well. Next time I go out there I do plan on filming all the dirt roads in the central part of the park. Winter is not the best month out there.

I believe the National Forest Service requires all vehicles to be street legal and registered in this area. All vehicles must also stay on the marked road.
@boyharianja88704 жыл бұрын
did you air down or not when goin on the trail
@oc-wk2364 жыл бұрын
No. I was probably around 35-40 PSI. Airing down would have made the trip less bumpy, but there are no areas where airing down is necessary. Unless you are there during a storm, this is a pretty easy trail for must SUVs and Truck. For Jeeps and 4×4's, this is a walk in the park.

What sucks is that all these developers are purchasing the lands by the 15 and cutting all the access roads to get to the main road
@oc-wk2362 жыл бұрын
Ya. Luckily they can only go so far before they hit the National Forest boundaries. The county owns a lot of those lands you are talking about. I bet that is how developers are able to buy them. I live on the OC side of the mountain, so I haven't see what you are talking about too much.
