A fabulous project and a privilege to be part of the team delivering it.

Parking ? Improved public transport links for the 1,000s of patients and staff who will now have to travel further to access this wonderful new facility ? Nothing mentioned about that. Looks very impressive but looks are not everything

It's hilarious that you think they'd build a massive new hospital building and nobody thought about a new car park

I like the area's where patents are treated and cared for but that massive antrum looks like it belongs in the headquarters of a multi national company who have bundles of money to wow potential clients with their image. Over the last 10 years there has been some landmark NHS buildings in towns and cities, designed by architects looking to fill their portfolio with impressive designs. These are hospital buildings paid for by the public purse and they need to be functional and fit for purpose not a step up the architectural ladder for the architect. Hospitals need staff not impressive buildings, patients need to come in and say, mend me or make it so it don't hurt. The new publicly funded UK hospitals over the last few years are starting to look like the Private hospitals of the USA with their corporate look, which don't bode well for the future when they are probably given away to private healthcare businesses paid for by us......... Rant Over....

It works for the RACH (also designed by BDP), feels nice to visit and work it. Walking out of a theatre to a view of a big, bright antrum is pretty nice. To me these impressive buildings say "you're in good hands". It is a worry that this all could be setting up for selling off, especially with things like 65% en-suite rooms which the nurses are going to hate.

God forbid the patients and staff have a large space to have a break and eat lunch. Yeah this massive new 10+ floor hospital really needs the extra half a floor for a ward, and the additional staff and patients can sit on the road if they're not doing anything helpful right?
