The way she adjusts her body to align with his when he moves in closer gets me every time. I love that she doesn't ever step away from Hook when he does this, only when it becomes too real for her to deal with at the moment. This slow burn is killing us all in the best way isn't it. UGH.

"If its broken it means it still works." *cue Captain Swan theme music* The look on Hook's face when Emma walks away was so heart-rending. He is SO in love with her! And he seems to understand her so well. One day (I'm assuming by the end of the season), Emma will have to acknowledge what her feelings for him are. She can't expect him to just hang about indefinitely, pining after her while she continually runs away from her feelings. That's not fair on Hook. OK, she has a heck of a lot of walls up around her heart, but Hook is the only man who hasn't broken it, and if she keeps walking away from him, then she's a fool.

This just underscores once again how unbelievably perfect Hook is for Emma. She's so wounded by people leaving her or turning out to be someone other than who they pretended to be, that she is almost incapable of letting anyone else in. Most men probably would have thrown up their hands and given up on her by now. It seems she does nothing but push him away. But Hook doesn't give up. He doesn't LET her push him away. He knows her better than she knows her self. He knows how scarred and wounded she is. He knows if he is to win her heart, he needs to prove to her over and over and over again that he loves her, that he IS the man he says he is, that he will never leave her no matter what happens. No matter what, he will put her first. How does he know so much about her? He has similar wounds. He knows what it's like to be abandoned. He knows what it's like to lose people he loves. He knows what it's like to have his heart broken. But beyond that, he knows how to move past a heartbreak and let your heart heal. That is why I think his line to her about her broken heart proving that her heart still works is so important and significant. He knows how to heal her heart; and he desperately hopes one day she'll let him fill it with a man who loves her more than he loves revenge, more than he loves the 300 year old memory of the last woman he loved, more than he loves his own happiness, even his own life. Yes, Emma is wounded now. I don't like her to be hurt, and I don't like to see her hurting Hook, but I think this scene had to happen. You can't just date a man for 8 months, fall in love with him and consider marrying him without suffering some residual effects when you find out he was just playing you. That would be painful for any woman, but ESPECIALLY for a woman who's been abandoned and sacrificed over and over and over and over again. Eventually (probably sooner rather than later) Emma will come to realize and accept the genuineness of Hook's feelings for her...and her feelings for him. I have a feeling that some traumatic things will be going down in the next few episodes that will make Emma realize that she can't push Hook away any longer. To do so won't protect her heart, it would make it break that much more painfully if anything ever were to happen to him.

in addition to what you said... the perfect man for a woman that has been abandoned so many times like emma is a man who could be anywhere in the world but chooses to be with her. As far as we've seen Hook is that man. That's what he was trying to say when they were in the woods. He's always in danger but it doesn't matter because he loves her and wants to be with her. it was like snow and charming in neverland. Snow was completly sure she would rather be with charming, fighting everyday with the lost boys and other creatures, being in danger and trapped in neverland than to lose him forever. same with hook!!

Exactly!!!! The whole point of Emma's character in the earlier seasons is when she likes someone she pushes them away. Killian knows she likes him back and while he doesn't pressure her, he also does not completely give up on her simply because she did not fall into his arms in the first minute. And its funny that people think he should have just given up and left her

I love that Emma knows that Hook is lying. He is so guarded with her right now. I wonder what she would think if she knew he was pining after her. Hook has given up so much to help Emma and her family. You can tell he really cared about her. How often has Hook stopped Emma from doing something stupid? I get that she's fearless but now she's acting reckless. I get that she's the savior but she was gone for a year with no memories of having magic plus she's not very good at controlling it. I'm glad Hook was there to save her from herself.

Maybe Hook is hiding he had to pay a big price to get back to Emma and that implies that he can only stay a limited time with them in Storybrooke (he says very often "we're waisting time"). This way, once the curse is broken, he'd be the only one who has to pay a price. At that point (probb the season finale), and about to lose him, Emma would have to face her real feelings and make an important decision. It'd be great to have Emma fighting for Hook a little in return, isn't it? ;)

I think what he's not telling her is that going back to a pirate's life and deciding to come back and save her was not a clean break. That he was trying to get back to her from the very beginning.

It could be that, or any number of things. Im sure he had to give up something VERY special to get that memory potion and be able to go to her. Like say... his SHIP? We haven't seen the Jolly Roger in quite some time...

Also if you watch the flashback scene where hook is leaving the enchanted forest for his ship , that scene it shows in some essence I think Charming's growing trust in Hook even post neverland when he asks him where he is going and Hook doesn't really answer, Charming has this look on his face that was basically like a silent plea to Hook go find Emma and bring her back to us if anyone can do it you can , I kept getting this feeling on some level charming knew without asking hook was going to go off and find Emma . And so it made sense why the charmings so adamantly told neal not to go searching for her apart from she was happy in her new life, because they already new her knight in shining pirate fashion armor was on his way to save her ... ergo her Wesley Hook not prince humperdink ... Neal

You got to think the writers know how special these two are to the show if they have their own love theme , and it's pretty special in that nobody else uses it because it belongs to just killian and Emma

Yes it does, and what a beautiful theme it is! But "NOW have their own love theme" isn't quite right - check back to the scene in 2x06 where he wraps her hand. It plays at the end when they're talking about past loves, much more quietly, but it's definitely the same music. :D

@ Lisa C. this comment makes the fact it has become their love theme even more Ironic and gorgeous because of that scene in their introductory episode almost like this musical theme of theirs was always meant by the writers as being the catalyst for the Captain swan love story and was foreshadowing its very essence and development from its birth on the show. Maybe it was the writers way of saying this will come fruition eventually that they both would in some effect let go of their past loves , acknowledging those loves were in the past but this connection , love, it is their present and their future and in time that it is a once in a life time kind of love, one in a million which means it is to be embraced and grasped on to tightly never to be let go, because its a love neither one of them was prepared for , but will prove to be the greatest treasure and the grandest adventure of their lives .

I agree, they had their own love theme right from the beginning. 1) when they were climbing the beanstalk while they were talking about love, 2)when emma found out hook's milah tatoo and they were talking about love, 3)yep, when hook grabbed her hand but she left him with the giant, 4)WHEN THEY KISSED!!

My bet is on the writers placing hook in some serious danger , maybe even injure him to the point of death to force Emma to confront her feelings for him and who her heart truly belongs with

Around 0:41-1:34 I love those little moments because he's courting her and doesn't give up, even with the potential of Neal being somewhere out there. He will do anything to help her, even if that means finding Neal. When the camera shows her looking at him after he says that, you can tell she's letting it sink in. She wants to open herself up again, she just needs a little help. Hook's probably thinking, "I almost had that kiss."

everyone in here are just saying Emma broke his heart and blah blah blah!you people really want something to be rushed and forced?they have chemistry!I won't deny that!but in season 3A they totally ruined that great chemistry with a sudden and completely unneeded kiss by these two!while Emma was still thinking about Neal and she still is during this scene!so kissing in here would ruin the story again!Emma should accept and completely move on from Neal and make things perfectly clear that even she likes to be in a romantic relationship or not!walking away from Hook actually saved the story because other wise I would completely see that how much fanservice it is!
