This video is to record my 3 month progress after a years long hiatus. Last month’s video I recorded an ao12 20.58. I practice about 20 minutes in a day this month. That is 2x more than before. However due to lack of motivation and being busy with other things, I did skip some days practicing. Will I reach my goal of a Sub-20 ao12? Watch to find out. This video was recorded on 9-28.

I just got my sub20 ao100 a couple days ago - I would only say don’t go for long sessions, and do a few warmup solves before hand, as if you’re burnt out, and get a couple of solves with a mistake, it really hurts the average. I was averaging sub19 for part of my ao100 and the total average ended up a 19.90 because I was burnt out

@@meraldlag4336 right, when I get more than 1 bad solves in my ao12 my hopes of getting sub 20 is basically gone

One thing that helped me a lot for improving look ahead was planning my cross and then solving the cross with my eyes closed, then look for your first f2l pair and identify the solution for the pair and before executing the pair look for the next pair, then execute the first pair while tracking the second and then repeat for the rest of the solve. It helped a lot for me as it got me more comfortable solving the cross by memory leaving em more time to look for my first pair and make look ahead smoother, I hope this helps a bit

@@Jet_Tings that’s a good tip! I was always doing timed solves because it was more fun. Maybe I should implement this in my routine…

I agree with something you said. And I think most things in life are actually the opposite. But with cubing, I think 30mins session every 2 days is better than 15min every day. Keep practicing!

And my rec would be to try your best to find your next F2L pieces as you are inserting the current one. I know that advice gets thrown around a lot but reallyyy push your brain to do it

Fun to see someone else with the same goal! I'm currently at around a 25 second average, due to very inconsistent solves. What's your fastest single solve? I see you're doing two step OLL. Are you prioritizing learning full OLL? If so, how is it coming along?

@@august_klevberg Thanks for watching!fastest I can remember is 14 sec. No plans to learn full OLL atm. I think I will see more improvements on improving my flow(less pauses). I hope this will get better with more practice

@@jacksewe123 Yeah, flow and good look-ahead can definitely help a lot! My TPS is pretty bad, so I think it's worth learning full OLL for me. 14 seconds is amazing! Are you also aiming at getting a sub-10 single solve?

I hope so! good luck on your journey to sub 20 what I find interesting is that with good lighting, I can average a good few seconds faster. another thing I need to do is adjust to using stackmat, because I am a lot slower with it. (my last cstimer session with spacebar resulted in an 18 flat average for solves throughout the entire day, but with stackmat, I average 21 through the day.) maybe I will try posting updates too, and also start tracking progress! you earned a new sub keep up with the good content 👍

also 1 more thing, I need to work on doing cross on inspection + learning full pll, because at the moment I have not learned the g perms and r perms, and also only plan 3 cross edges on an average solve, and just rely on tps to save me
