"C&D" "Construction & Demolition" debris. My best guess is they lump the two together because whether you're throwing away leftover bits from building something or debris from tearing something down, it contains basically the same material and is treated (and billed) the same way by the landfill or transfer station. The only difference is that with demolition, there's more of it.

I learned something new today. Thanks!
@txvikingАй бұрын
@ My pleasure! I’ve learned so much from your channel!

that and it is called c&d as whether construction or demo it's all pretty much the same material just yes in demo there tends to be more and bulkier

I'm surprised you didn't either line the fence with some thin plywood (or maybe some salvaged metal roofing sections), or go get some snow fence and create a secondary barrier to catch any light debris. But good job pulling it down without any issue.

I love watching your DEMO vids of our local area. Have you taken notice of the rebar that you expose when demoing those large concrete beams, condition of the steel rebar?? How old are the beams, rusty rebar??? Just thinking of the condo building on the east coast that fell due to “Spaulding” of the concrete and rebar?????
@tjstrain280Ай бұрын
As the concrete ages, the protective chemicals or “ ph “in the concrete looses it protective qualities and the steel rebar starts to explode due to rust busting apart the concrete. Have you taken notice of it when you are demoing???
@removeitprosdemolitionАй бұрын
Yes, we see it a lot where the concrete is spalding.As you say. There taking the stucco off around here and looking at the concrete and then putting the stucco back on. It's gotta be wildly expensive for these condos

Maybe the “C” originally stood for Construction & the “D” would be for Demolition. That to me is what would make sense. It wouldn’t seem that there’s many other possibilities. A general contractor or subcontractor might be where to go for the answer as far as the meaning of the letters. I think someone who’s been doing what they do for 20 to 30 years would know just because of the length of time they’ve been in the business. Great job & video & thanks for taking the time to capture the physical part of the subject of the video. And great camera work!

@paulneron375Ай бұрын
You pick up a Jones valve, meter, & hydrant wrench from the city or township upon permit time. You better believe you get charged for the water. Hillbillies throw a suction line attached to a water pump in a nearby water source, if they'll let you, that is the municipality let's you.
@txvikingАй бұрын
$20,000 less sounds like a fairly inexpensive demolition for this size structure. Your idea of pulling the pillar out with the Jeep makes me think of that Jackie Chan movie where they do the same thing with a Peterbilt tow truck. As for who owns the sand, my guess is that whether the city owns it or the neighbor owns it, you'll be stuck putting it back?
@removeitprosdemolitionАй бұрын
I agree with you, that was a fun movie. I am not doing anything with the sand. I think the city has done all they are going to do.

If the county is managing the sand, then the sand on the property belong to them. AND, it should be the county responsibility - completely, for retrieving and clearing this off of properties damaged by the hurricane. This should not be the responsibility of the owner of this property, whatsoever. IMO. You guys did a really good job on this project, Dave!

Thank you. If someone leaves materials on your lot they belong to you. This may not included titled property. At least that's how they treat it here in Florida.

@removeitprosdemolitionАй бұрын
Probably about five loads for the c and d and one load for the concrete. We accumulate the scrap, and it's one of our profit centers.We use it to keep the guys busy.When most slow. Dot doesn't mess with us at all about any thing. It's unlikely that there's any containment, it's in that fan, that means anything.
