@@sportsking1320 it’s hit or miss right now since it seaweed season. One day there would be seaweed the next wouldn’t be. At least they have the pier at the Barcelo and you can walk out and snorkel with pretty water if there is seaweed around the beach front area.

I'm a loyal Barcelo customer. In my global travels, I rarely stay at any other facility. Actually, I live in Yucatan; about 2 hours from The Barcelo Maya Resort & have reservations for October. I'd like to assure you that if you ever have the slightest complaint, they will move Heaven and Earth to resolve the issue. Their customer service is second to none. Respectfully, I suggest the next time your family plans to stay at The Barcelo Maya, you opt for their Premium Level rooms. Specifically, their Premium Level Jr. Suite. It includes MANY perks. Such as priority check-in//out, an ocean-front suite with a hot-tub, unlimited dinner reservations & priority seating at all a' la carte restaurants, your choice of premium brand alcohol throughout the resort complex, daily in-room beach towels, premium in-room minibar, evening coctails & nosh in their exclusive Premium Lounge & SO MUCH MORE. In my opinion, the slight cost increase, compared to their "standard" room, is well worth the benefits. You'll also find that when the staff sees your "Premium Level" wrist band, they tend to go the extra mile to make your Barcelo experience even more enjoyable. Best regards to you & your family, Ben

We've been to the Barcelo complex 6x in tht past 2 years, and my wife is currently at the AO right now. We're heading to the Iberostar with our son next month. We've been to the Iberostar Grand several times, but we're going to the Paraiso Maya this time. And you're right, not much difference with the Palace. There's an Adults only pool there, but not much else in regards to room or service.

Thank you so much to take the time for you posts and videos! We have a group of 4-5 couples and are considering Barcelo and Iberostar. We are going in February 2022. Which of the two resorts do you think would be the best for couples. I know the Barcelo offers the Premium package and wonder if its worth it? It turns me off a little that you go to an all inclusive but then they are all these activities at cost extra! Does the Premium package eliminate some of that. I know they have the AO section but I'm like you, I like the tropical vibe of the other areas. Iberostar sounds very nice also but I saw in someones post that the swim up pool bar was closed. That is a must have for our group!!!!! Thanks again.

I think Iberostar has more things open as of now! Both are great properties and each has an AO property. Unfortunately we have not stayed at the AO sections at either yet so it’s hard to say, but we are planning a trip next year back to Barcelo AO vs picking Iberostar AO….I loved everything about Barcelo ☺️

If you stay at Adults Only, you have access to the entire complex including palace and the other 4 resort restaurants, pools, and activities. All rooms in Adults Only have hot tubs on the balcony also. Also wanted to let you know there is a Dolphinaris 8 minutes away that has different packages you can choose from. For $80, you can swim the dolphins for about 3 and a half hours and it includes lunch as well. I'm glad you were able to stay at Barcelo, I've been there twice and it is by far my favorite resort. I did personally think the food options was far more superior at Adults Only. Also, while staying at Adults Only you get dinner reservations at the a la cartes for every day of your stay if you so chose to.

@@HeatherStylesXO I've stayed there & honestly Heather...it's sizzle but no steak. I LOVE BARCELO FACILITIES. But for the higher price charged at the A.O. & Palace compared to the other resorts at this complex...it's not worth it. The only benefit is it's "AO". Their food, etc...is basically the same as all the resorts at this complex. Also, the beach is nice in-front of every resort at Barcelo Maya. But in my opinion, Barcelo Beach & neighbor Barcelo Caribe have the best swimming beaches of all. The Palace & A.O. beaches are not the best "swimming" beaches. Respectfully, Ben

No that’s the one thing you will need to schedule! We really like using Canada Transfers when booking our shuttles! Round trip private shuttle was $150 for all 5 of us :)

Iberostar does not limit you on reservations like Barcelo does. That one the one con about this resort I did not like. I am not sure if a lot of these resorts are limiting people due to covid and short staff or what but we got to eat every night at Iberostar at a restaurant and Barcelo was limiting us to only 2 if we would have stayed 6 nights. We were only there for 3 days since we had to switch resorts so at first they were not going to give us any, however my husband slipped the front desk lady a tip and she managed to get us a restaurant for each night thankfully! Both resorts had equally amazing restaurants however Barcelo's lunch and dinner buffets were way better then Iberostars we thought!

well got back from the Barcelo Maya Palace and it was a great vacation and it was beautiful but the food at the Iberostar was much better for the buffets at least and the entertainment was too. everything else I think the Barcelo is better. just my opinion. both are great resorts now looking for a different one for next year !

We booked this also Barcelo beach, we were at the beach palace hotel last March 2022 the experience was horrific! Vanity Sink and shower room emits this sewer like disgusting smell! And one of the staff also failed to give my wife her very special request for a 40th bday cake, and non of the staff and managers did nothing to fix the situation! They just told us to write a complaint!, the next thing beach palace failed miserably is we were booked on our last full day stay to go to the Mayan adventure, but there has been miscommunication from hotel to the booking services, waited until 10am which is very late, non of the pick up adventure vans had our names on the passengers list! Then they ended up booking us on a Rio Secreto adventure which is also nice but my kids wanted the mayan adventure..months later we are about to celebrate our 20th year anniversary and we did our home work now and booked at Barcelo! Still hoping Barcelo will exceed our expectations ...we are headed there before labor day got an amazing 6 nights stay deal at $630 flight/hotel per person! I don’t know about moon palace if you will like it but the smelly beach palace is one of their properties, we had a tour of moon palace and when we compare a lot of vlogs of Barcelo vs our own experience tour at moon palace, we decided Barcelo is better!

If positive, you have to quarantine in Mexico for 10-14 days 😬 Some resorts offer free quarantine stay if you do test positive and some do not. I’m not sure if Moon Palace offers that?

Do you book your trips or do you go through a travel agent? Did your price include your flight. We fly from Canada and the cost per person for 7 nights is around $2,000.00. Do you know if all resorts limit your reservations for your dinners. Not a big fan of buffet. Awesome video

We typically booked through Expedia or cheap Caribbean because I can always find a better price than what travel agents have quoted me. And yes like I mentioned in the video, the Barcelo unfortunately does try to limit you on restaurant reservations however we were able to get more with just a friendly tip to the front desk :) that was the only con about this property that I had. However, it was so amazing I would go back even with the restaurants being limited.

Technically summer months tend to be more seaweed but you might get lucky! Mother Nature is hard to plan around lol but yes rooms close to the pool are typically more expensive. Tip the front desk when you check in and see if that can help a little 😉

I think my most favorite part about Barcelo was the pools located right next to the ocean and the pier! Iberostar has amazing pools like Barcelo but no beach in sight when your at the pool. However, the food is much better at Iberostar Maya. They both have a mall with neat shops and a nightclub which we enjoyed! I think they are very very similar one has better beach and the other has better food 🙈 lol so depends on whats more important to you I guess!!

We thought they were fine. More on your average side but has everything you need and our room got super cold which is always a plus! We tend to not upgrade when staying at these resorts because we are never in the room! We are always outside enjoying the pools and beach. If your looking for a luxury room then you may need to upgrade to a different section or resort.

They were probably not fully staffed yet. I am hearing this to be an issue with lots of resorts due to not hiring all their employees back. However, the staff was not the issue we had at this resort, they were very friendly. Just the resort was run down and then the food was not the best. Most resorts from what I am now hearing are opening up to more capacity and getting back to normal! If your concerned on crowds then I would look into a smaller resort, maybe an adults only! I am hoping to try the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya within this next year! I have heard it’s awesome and not overly crowded!

Just depends on who you book through. If you need payment plans I think it’s best to book through a travel agent in advanced. They break it up for you then require the rest of it to be paid 30-45 days before your trip. I typically just book on Expedia and keeping researching dates till I find the best deal. Travel agents like to upcharge.

I had a great time at Moon Palace but the beach was a big letdown unfortunately and the price is a little higher there too. I would say food is a little better at Moon Palace also but we really loved Barcelo and would return there in a heartbeat!!!

The palace from what I noticed didn’t have much of one. There is a free mini watermark at the Tropical and then one at the front of Barcelo that you have to pay for…I show clips of it in this video but it’s near the mall area.

We are taking 3 kids (12, 4, 2) this summer for their first time. Barcelo Palace vs. Iberostar Maya. Which would you pick???

Aghhh that’s a tough one for sure, we really love both but if we we t back with our kiddos we would choose Barcelo I think. They have a few extra amenities for kids vs Iberostar and we loved snorkeling right off the pier! Also loved how the pools were located right next to the ocean, the views were stunning! But no matter which one you go with, you will have a great time!!!

I’m so torn, now. We’ve never done all-inclusive, however we have cruised several times. I’m under the impression that they have similar amenities. My hubs friend recommended Sirenas and they are very well traveled. We want to go in August and the prices are somewhat higher. I can’t be hot. That’s a deal breaker, for me!!! Honestly, I have a terrible time when I get hot. Then why vacation in Mexico in summer, right? COVID. If I have water and a breeze, I’m good. I really thought a/c wasn’t even a question. The pools being warm/hot is a definite con. What to do, what to do? 🤔

We have never had any issues at these other Mexico resorts like we did at Grand Sirenis. That’s why I decided to make a video on it. There’s so many amazing all inclusive resorts at the very same price point that we paid for the Grand Sirenis. It was just an older resort with not very many amenities I think. People will always have different opinions though! We went on a couple of cruises before we started doing all inclusives and after our very first all inclusive vacation we said we would never do a cruise again LOL I don’t like the small confined rooms and not getting to venture. But some people love cruises!!! Again everyone is different ☺️ at the end of the day I just make travel videos and share them LOL

Gee that's where my entire party got food poisoning. I live in Florida and am sticking to the Florida Beach resorts. Especially where I live on the Gulf Side. And dont get seriously injured. You will be emergency flighted back to the US. Still glad you had a good family time.

I have actually been hearing food poisoning issues going on at lots of different resorts from some of the Facebook pages I follow! I don’t know if it has to do with what you’re eating or if it is the ice in the drinks but I know it’s not just a Barcelo that people are saying this about! Kind of crazy we didn’t have issues thankfully but I’m definitely gonna be more careful about what food I eat on our next trip just in case!

We loved the colonial or tropical section at Barcelo! It had the best pools and was near the pier. If you need any help booking my husband is a travel agent. We do not price gouge clients like most TAs and will get you the best deal! :) [e-mail]

yes, they will schedule it when you check in :) or we knew of some people that waited and got tested at the airport before they flew home!

YES Heather the extra money is well worth to stay at the Palace. We also do the Club Premium there as well. We were just there in May and stayed for 16 days and it was our 9th time there.

Since we did not stay at the palace it’s hard to say. I know I have heard it’s nicer over there as far as the rooms and you get more restaurant options. We stayed at the tropical and loved it. You can still bounce around to the caribe/beach properties too. I personally don’t think I would upgrade and save the money to use on something else, maybe like an excursion. We enjoyed staying at the Tropical property :)

The seaweed is now more common because of humans destroying the ecosystem in places like tulum🤢 watch the dark side of tulum to get more info on how we go to these places because of the beautiful water but slowly destroying it ☹️ also I stayed here for a wedding and agree with you it was so fun ! We walked across the street the cenotes as well !

Rent a car for less than $140 a night you can have a giant Villa in the jungle with a swimming pool you and your husband and the kids will love it. You get to experience Mexico from another perspective not from an all-inclusive resort. It's still a luxury experience. Done during the days you can get guest passes for all inclusive resorts for the day
