@@jrockyhill Ahaa, thnx for replying! Great video as well, thnx for sharing. After a Wild fire in my area that killed 8 over the last week Im slowly working through fire videos trying to educate myself a bit more on how you guys deal with it and how we civilians should deal with it. Scary stuff! Seems like fleeing well ahead of time is really the only good option. A tiny bit of the Fire here caught us by surprise and it was scary as hell! My new worst fear for sure! Even though youre on the other side of the world from me I just want to say thank you for choosing this job. All you guys are incredible!

Use that nice remote controlled nozzle on the front bumper and drive around spraying. Also if the fire is burning between 2 roads, just concentrate on the head then go mop up.

the highway is a man made barrier no need to waist fuel and water when it was going to die at the edge of the road anyway . but you did fight from the black so good job on that.

CrazyAmazingHD yeah but it probably wasn't possible to burn across the road because it's all short grass but they did the right thing because you should just put it right out instead of tying up resources just to let it burn freely

@@sebbykaiser6466 short grass dont mean anything. A good gust of wind could carry an ember from the grass a long distance. Ive seen it happen before.

I am good with knocking out that flank along the road. First, wont take much water to do it and it will calm the smoke down faster, reducing the hazard along the road.

I agree with putting flames out first. It reduces the possibility of burning embers flying in the wind by more than 90%. It also cuts down the smoke, making the situation for road users and firefighters a whole lot safer.

If it is burning up against the road and is just creeping then that is not where you want to be expending your water. Cut the damn fence and work on the other flank.

We have four stations that are anywhere from twelve to fifteen miles apart this fire was within 4 miles of the first station

Fires along roads, interstates, highways should be put out because it's going to cause long delays and closing of the road if smoke builds up too much you can't drive safely.
