A good tip for for the double Mable would be coming out in cover 2 in this base and then putting out side LB’s in purples. Saves time for those who are not as fast with Q adjustments

oh totally man. only issue is the 6-1 cover 2 is only found in the pats defensive playbook which isn't nearly as popular this year. but i totally agree. cover 2 is my FAVORITE play to make adjustments out of!!

Yes i do this already. In my dime i turn base and auto flip off and come out in dime safety blitzes then audible to my play to bring safeties down. No more cheap quick passes!

The abilities I run on defense in MUT currently are 2 Deep Out Zone KO's on my two safeties (sometimes I'll put them on my Cornerbacks), 1 Inside stuff on my DT and 3 Lurk Artists (1 of them is ZERO AP).

I've just realised in the adjustments screen you don't turn on match. I've been putting them on match. Maybe thats why im finding gaps as they are trying to match from the line. I'm gonna try it with match turned off tonight after work.

thanks a ton man!!!! i tellya dude, the more i'm playing the more i'm using the blitz 3 out of dime and 4-3 6-1. i'm having a lot of success and it's nice that the pass rush gets in without having to make all sorts of crazy adjustments to get a nano-blitz in. just set it up and it works more often than not. let's me concentrate on coverage adjustments instead of worrying about "crafting" a blitz. that dollar video will be coming out soon. got one more i'm gonna upload probably here today, then i'll focus on the dollar D video!!!

@@Madden927gamer a couple of things...one is that people are getting used to playing against 4-3 6-1. there are some coverage limitations...not that coverage is bad out of this formation but there are limited shells that can be utilized. buttt...i suspect this could be related to fatigue. i played a couple of games last night and even in run plays, my lb's and db's were getting fatigued even out of THIS formation. once they're tired, lb's and db's get BURNED in coverage. it's a mess right now man. right now people are using BEEFY linemen at DE and DT. i'm ONLY blitzing julius peppers because he's 290 and doesn't fatigue when rushing. it's just a mess right now bro!!!

@@Madden927gamer well, what i did was bought beefy guys for the line (bakhtiari and barmore at the ends) and dropped peppers down as my 2nd safety. i rarely blitz both DB's out of DB Fire anyway so i just flip the play and almost always use peppers as my blitzer. those beefy dudes don't tire out. i did play a game where i used mostly dime and only had one issue with carmichael getting yellow so just subbed him out for a few plays...but the only answer right now is to make sure you have beefy D-linemen. you can't use bosa, parsons, LT, etc. for more than a couple of plays without them taking a long, quiet nap!! it sucks dude. hope they "fix" their "fix" soon!!

Another thing I've noticed is there is alot of gaps in the defence as the OLB/Slot Corners start so shallow. I'd really love to use this defence but i find theres alot of gaps. I must be missing something. Love your Madden videos by the way

machinegunkelly (your new nickname--LOL), some people like to PINCH their linebackers out of the 4-3 6-1 (closing the gap between them and the defensive line but creating more gap between the LB's and the CB's). i personally like to SPREAD them so i can shoot the outside gaps with my user and not get hooked up on the linemen as easily...but you might try pinching them and see if that's more to your liking. if you watch the follow up video where i commentate gameplay, you can watch my user and see that i don't typically DART when blowing up the run because the user can get caught up so easily on the offensive linemen "suck" animation...so i loop up briefly (away from the line) then smoothly turn toward the area i'm running toward. that helps for me. but i agree...out of the dollar, i SHOOT toward the area i want to on run plays and don't have the same issue. the 4-3 6-1 really is a unique formation and plays differently than any formation i've ever played in madden (at least in my opinion). just keep practicing, try some of the above and see if that helps. again, watch that gameplay commentary video i did and you can see i use my user differently in the 4-3 6-1 than other formations. Oh, one final thing...if you run the same formations and adjustments out of the DIME, it doesn't seem to be as "clunky" in terms of those gaps and shooting/filling them. Hope that helps!!

Firstly, great vid! One question tho, if the Dime normal plays are same coverage as the 6-1 plays. Whats the purpose in cycling between them? I use 6-1 and I want to find other formations to mix in but I would think they'd have to serve different purposes. Thanks!

well, DIME is a completely different defense than 4-3 6-1. those two plays that i describe are very similar though (they're actually in many if not most formations). the dime and 6-1 are both symmetrical so they end up playing very similarly. but if you run both, you'll see they play differently (mostly based on personnel). but the DIME has TONS of coverage and blitz options and, because there are so many defensive backs, more coverage adjustment options. Also, 4-3 6-1 is a bit vulnerable to RPO's vs. DIME and the coverage adjustments you can make. now out of the Patriots playbook, there are a couple of additional coverage plays (namely the 2-deep man and the cover 2) that give you more flexibility in terms of coverage. But DIME is now my second favorite defense, almost right up there w/Dollar because it's so flexible in terms of setups compared to the 4-3 6-1. can you help me? I’m noticing when I run this online my DT often comes through untouched but just stops and stares at the QB like he’s in a spy or something. It only happens online, but it happens almost every time he gets a free rush from the quick disengage. He he gets through and then just stops. I cannot figure out for the life of me why it’s happening.

ugh, i hearya. it's called nano-detection. EA has serious holes in their coding when it comes to pass protection so instead of just fixing it (they never seem to be able to and every time they try i swear they break the game), they put in nano-detection so if your guy comes too free up the gap, EA sports programmed it to "nano-detect" rushers that come TOO free and they freeze them at the line. it's disgusting!!! i've personally only had it happen a couple of times in the 4-3 6-1, but every time it does i wanna scream!!!!!

@@FrigidHeights totally man. i HATE nano-detection. one thing you "might" try, and i'm not sure if you do this, but i NEVER blitz my user. it registers as a rusher and changes things up in both coverage as well as blocking logic and i think sometimes blitzing the user causes more nano-detection. it's just a theory though.

It’s easier to setup in patriots they have cover 2 and safeties already in deep half’s. When I see this defense I smoke it with deep posts and high low middle concepts. Forcing user to cover shallow and deep

The run is tough this year. My suggestion is to try spreading your linebackers (I show how to do this in the video...just go RIGHT on the D-Pad and then spread em out). I find this really helps me to shoot between the gap between the line and outside linebacker vs. not spreading them and getting caught up on blockers. Also, it helps to keep your user slightly behind the scrum and ROLLLL your user up and toward the ball carrier giving you free space to shoot toward the runner. Hope that helps bro!!!

Also, if you run Cover 4, the safeties are in run-fits by default. If you drag your safeties down about 10 yards from the line of scrimmage, they'll run downhill toward the run at the snap of the ball. That REALLY helps! Check out my "Dominant Defense" video which will showcase some of what I just said.

Quick question, i seem to get destroyed on super quick flat routes or out routes everytime i run the manable. Is there any way to stop or prevent that?

nick, i hope i'm understanding you right when i answer this. flat and out routes are essentially underneath routes. if you're looking for a basic setup, if you want to stop the underneath routes, shade your coverage down (triangle, down on the R stick) which will turn your purple routes to light blue (clouds to flats). NOTE: this leaves your mid-routes open (FYI). for advanced setups, pretty much every formation is susceptible to slants, drags, outs, flats, etc. in some way, shape or form. couple of ways to battle this. if running man, shade underneath and then shade inside (triangle, R stick down, R stick left). I will almost always man up 2 of the receivers when playing zone. cross-manning can help with this too. you can manually put ONE of your linebackers in a hard flat (typically do this on the side the HB is on (you could man up the other linebacker to the TE or the slot receiver, press your cornerbacks--i will press my cornerbacks a lot out of 4-3 6-1 cover 4...but there's also some risk here too.) basically, if you're playing a human, they'll find holes in your setup and you have to experiment with adjusting. with my dollar defense (like i talked about in my breakdown video), i know there are 4 soft spots i need to be aware of and about every 2-3 plays i'll make sure to drop a vertical hook or two in the problem area or areas (for drags or HB out routes for example) to deter this. but in the end, if you have good middle-deep coverage, you're typically gonna be leaving underneath routes more open and vice versa. i'll be putting out a dollar defense video (with some more advanced setups) here soon and that might explain how to combat this better for ya bro! hope what i said helps in the meantime. and thanks for watching and subbing dude!!! really appreciate it!!

@@nicks5640, totally man. i have the same issue. keep in mind, if someone is running say BUNCH, you don't necessarily have to keep the entire cover 4 shell...you can cover 2 shell one side, cover 4 the other and take a player and man him up on a receiver/route that's been giving you trouble. i think that's an awesome idea...i man up troublesome routes almost every play personally and it seems to work well. lemme know how it works out bro!!

yeah dude, cloud flats really suck this year. the only real solution is to set hard flats to 30 and clouds to 5 or 0. and you have to back up those hard flats if they're close to the line or they'll still get torched, even dropping to 30. ugh!!

in this situation no. but match is kind of a personal thing. probably an entire other video. you can experiment with it and see how it works out for you. in my dollar scheme, match works really well for me. it hasn't as well in the 4-3 6-1. but that's just me bro! my suggestion is try it out and see if you like it or don't. hope that helps and thanks so much for watching the channel dude!

it's up to you. i personally don't run it often with 4-3 6-1 because i set my zone drops and i don't want someone exploiting my coverage with match on. but a lot of people are successful with it. i'd suggest trying it out and see if you like it on or off. in dollar, i almost always use match, but not in 4-3 6-1. but don't take my word for it...try seeing if it works better for you or if you come to the same conclusion. thanks for watching dude!!!

I wish someone would run this defense on me🤣🤣🤣. I see all of these "meta" defenses KZbin videos and they always fail to say the one thing that's most important. Put safeties in your sublb. I do use the eagles but when I go nickel there's no linebackers and I don't get destroyed by the run. The way Madden is set up certain formations get ran over and pancaked not personnel. If I go quarter then I'll get ran on but if I go nickel over then I won't get ran on. The biggest thing with Madden 24 is that linebackers are nerfed down. They don't pursue that well, they're slow and damn near don't play the pass well at all. I put two safeties in at sublb and shut the pass down and give good run d support. Most people are passing anyway and if for some reason I suck against the run then I'll switch over but there's no way I'm putting linebackers out there to cover receivers UNLESS I'm in the Red zone. There's so much you can do against 4-3 6-1
