7:42 and thats why the one defensive tactic i really took from my high school days that i still use now as a DC is to auto-check into man defense whenever theres a possible 4x1 look. If the running back is in the backfield on the opposite side of trips, then the safety shell shifts to the trips and its man on the back end. If the back is on the same side as the trips or its just flat out 4 receivers to one side, it autos into cover-1 robber no matter what, maybe 2-man if there isnt a scramble threat from the QB or a particularly abusive TE

That curl you hit at 4:45 works everytime when hes wide open. When the defender is close i get a ton of drops. But if i throw to early the tight end doesnt finish his route and the ball goes passed him to that outside CB for a pick because the TE doesnt have his "head turned around". The timing on that one is huge. Fun stuff man love this.

I recently got back into madden a few weeks ago and I've been running four verts out of different formation and just reading the defense and hot routing. I really appreciate your insight in attacking coverages. It helps to kind of see the game through the lens of a QB. Look forward to more videos!

I’ve searched so many KZbinrs trying find ways to improve in Madden and NONE of them has been as educational on the game than you, Kurt. My search is over and I’ve been pretty successful in most of my games. I say most because I’m still learning. I just started playing Madden again this year after not playing for several years. Thank you Coach, I'm very new to Madden and kinda recent to Football. I'm learning a lot from your channel to apply in the game and in real life. I watched it when I was a teen but unfortunately in my country it is not diffused like soccer, which I've played for many years. I hate how madden wont let you snap it while the defense runs to get into position. You see on any Sunday or Monday or Thursday, the ball gets snapped whether the D is set or not

@Kurt... Do you plan on buying the new CFB 25 so you can help us learn how to read coverages after the snap since they have implemented multiple pre-snap disguises? That's the type of content I could pay for 😂l know from your content that pre-snap motion and stacking one side with 4 wide would help a lot... but i would love to be able to determine their defense after i snap that ball.... like my buddy learned to actually win sometimes by user-controlling the middle linebacker and confusing me sometimes. I still got the winning record against him but he has mastered that user-MLB to shut down many of my plays outes that I used to dominate him year after year.. for example the most recent was that tight end streak to beat his C2... but he would run C2 and user the MLB much deeper and take that away. I screwed up and used it too much so that he learned how to defend it lol.. that's my boy though.. he's an auburn fan (for some reason) and i've always been a Bama fan because I am so proud of where I am from and why me not not have the big cities or pro teams, we got Alabama and Auburn. Maybe if I was born and raised in Auburn then I MIGHT be an Aubie.... But I was born and raised n the very northwest corner of Alabama (Florence), so my state pride will always roll with the tide, YA HEARD!! But I tell you what... in my lifetime, Alabama playing AT Auburn has always been the toughest game... I swear that's why I think it's the best rivalry in sports because there is just something about playing at Jordan-Hare in Auburn, no matter their records, is the most intense and completive game of the year.
