Did you run a wideband O2 to see if you are running lean with the new cams? I want to put some '08 cams in my 4.7 but have heard different opinions if it will run lean without a tune. I should have watched the whole video. lol. I see you have a wideband.

Something you should do is adjust timing and a custom tune , it should help increase torque at 2000RPMS

Do you know if the 4.7 in the 4th gens are the same as the earlier 4.7s? Looking into cams but haven’t found anything for mine

So the 2008 and up 4.7s are different but the camshafts are interchangeable with the earlier generations. Swapping the 2008+ cams into pre 2008 4.7s is a common upgrade since they are more aggressive. If you have a 4th gen with the 4.7 you already have the best performing stock camshafts and will need to get them reground to get anything more aggressive. Or you can try to find some 212, 218, or 224 camshafts, which will bolt into your 4th gen 4.7. I would recommend upgrading your valvesprings with anything larger than 212 grinds.

@@Dodgeramsam789 that’s about what I’m going to look into. I know they also make aftermarket headers for the earlier 4.7s I’m curious if they would bolt up to the newer 4.7s

Did you put headers on it? If not you aren’t accomplishing anything. The factory exhaust manifolds are too restrictive.

Yes, im currently running some hedman hedders shorties had to modify the stock exhaust to get the passenger side to fit properly as they were meant for 03 and older 4.7s

I never removed coil packs to swap cams. Unplug harness yes but coils stay. Try a 3k stall edge converter with 456 gears. Will be a whole nother animal

If you want more lope you need 3” true duals no cats no resonators , and a flow through aftermarket muffler like flow master outlaws , with 5” tips

Crower and american cam do 4.7l regrimds for any1 looking. Just give them a call. Crower is ridiculously expensive though.

no, they’re more aggressive. 08-13 4.7s make 310 hp

@tyler826 I have a 2012 durango with the hemi my fully built 4.7 will pass it but if I miss a shift that hemi outrun it

Why? The 4.7 does give you good HP /TQ when modded , the most I’ve seen was 700+whp 600 WTQ on a 01 jeep single turbo

@Supercharged287SOHC because of the heavy weight of the ram a 4.7 is awesome in a jeep or dakota but they are 1k lbs lighter and I even have a manual transmission fully built engine but my 2012 hemi durango will outrun it on all motor stock if I miss a shift
