I really like your summer hack without the bottom band and the lower banded neck best of all. It's really nice. Thank you.🙏
@sueporter30873 жыл бұрын
The short puffed sleeves on the summer version are really nice. The proportions are just right, and the band at the bottom is just the right circumference too. Very attractive.

Katrina, I really can't decide which one I like the best. The polka dot dress looks wonderful on you, and if I had to pick one I would say that is the one that looks stunning on you. Thanks for showing all your versions of the Arlington top. I will purchase the pattern and make a few as I love cowl necklines and I live in MN/United States and it is almost fall and it gets really cold in winter. Take care and happy sewing, I really enjoy watching your videos.

First of all, love the blue boots! All the tops and the dress look great. I liked learning how to do the extra neckline choice doing a band. My favorite is the dress. I think cowl necks are so pretty. mlm

Always some great tips, thank you. I will be making a sweater knit version with a mock turtleneck and will test it as I have thought of interfacing with a knit interfacing. Only if the knit seams too soft. Thanks again , love your videos.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
I think the knit interfacing would be ok because you don’t need to stretch to too much to fit the head. I prefer mine soft :)

With garments like these, I'm especially happy that you got your new serger. I got one at an estate sale, and I appreciate that you're helping me learn how to get the most out of using it...like putting the clear elastic in the shoulder seams.

I especially love the dress on you, the shape really flatters your body. Thank you for all your tips, I'm sewing a sweater knit with a pattern that doesn't say to stabilise the shoulders but I definitely will since it has a bishop sleeve! ❤

The shoulder bit is important. When I’ve skipped it, I’ve always regretted it afterwards :)

The cowl neckline looks lovely on you, both the top and the dress. I appreciate your dedication, it must have been challenging to wear long boots for the photos. Love the summer version too, when you sew there is no reason to wear boring tshirts.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
Yes! A big no to boring t-shirts 😀. I refuse to make them or buy them 👍🏼
@jirup3 жыл бұрын
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles The only time I buy a tshirt are fund raisers, so they generally have something interesting printed on them and become a talking point. Otherwise I make my own and nope, I don't make boring ones either.

What a wonderful video! You’ve inspired me to make some of these, although we don’t have much cold weather here in SC. I’d love to be able to figure out how to draft one up for my 8 yr old granddaughter who lives in WI. Brrrr. It’s gonna get cold 🥶 up there! Thanks for your video!
@lynnshepard74853 жыл бұрын
I bought the Love Notions girls classic tee a few days ago and think I might be able to change the neckline and draft a cowl neck. The fabric I ordered for it came in the mail today! I was looking for a sweater pattern to go under a sleeveless flutter capped dress I’m making her. She lives in Wisconsin, so no bare arms right now. Yikes. What great timing!

Karina - can you do a light press on stretch suede? I have not used it before. I imagine it is similar to a velvet type fabric. I do like this pattern made into the T-shirt with puff sleeve in a summer knit. I really does elevate the T-shirt for summer wear. Would look cute with jeans etc. Think I will try that also.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I pressed it lightly from the wrong side of the fabric only and with low heat. It worked well :)

I wanted to change the neckline to the Arlington sweater but to a crew neck not a scoop neck and I’m hoping the video will help me figure out how to do that. Lol 😂
@vanessaarmstead54442 жыл бұрын
How wide is the neckband when drafting your own?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles2 жыл бұрын
Usually 2” tall. When folded lengthwise in half and then sewn, it ends up about 3/4”.
