Babymetal did a band instrumental intro for a new song on their Metal Galaxy tour. They each took a solo and ended with the drummer. After they were more than half way through the tour, the drummer incorporated a gravity blast to finish his solo and it blew my mind with how intense and fast it was! Thanks for showing me how it’s done!

90%?! Okay, so I'm not only a FF nut, but I also play in a FF tribute band, so here we go.. Dude, they do blast beats like maybe 3 times on an album. Sure, they have a lot on Soul Of a New Machine (which most are super sloppy, and not patterned), then Demanufacture has H-K which has the ever-so-famous "THE MACHINE IS NOW ALIVE..." blast beat. Zero on Obsolete and Digimortal. A little bit on Archetype, a little on Transgression.. Then we get to the Dino return era, which has more of these, as Gene Hoglan not only specialized in that style, but applied them somewhat generously in Mechanize, which in turn influenced The Industrialist and Genexus. Yes, there was more at that point, but certainly not 90%. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk 🤓

But dude....you can teach like I’ve never seen. You could seriously teach someone that has never played drums to be able to do those blast beats on their first try because your explanations are so clean and the way you speak there is zero judging or the very common “look at me I’m a bad ass drummer!” You just seem like an honest nice guy. One I'd add to this is basically like the bomb blast, but removing the right foot kicks so that every bass drum hit falls in between snare hits. You play it with both feet. It sounds like the bomb blast, is easier for those who struggle with foot speed, and really helps limb independence! For reference of what it sounds like, It's used in "The Price is Wrong" by Periphery, 5 seconds in.
