The only one that CAN work on a regular lock is one where you make your own key from a can lid(as long as the lock doesn't have much spring tension on the core). Wrenches don't work with regular locks with a steel body and a stainless steel or boron carbide shackles... which is almost all of them not bought at a dollar store. And shimming most locks nowadays doesn't work because they use ball bearings instead of springs and locking tabs.(again only useful with dollar store locks)

That's actually not correct. They make locks where the steel is strong enough that bolt cutters don't work. I have seen it with my own eyes. It even takes quite a while to cut through them with a grinder and a cutting disk.

Yeah but it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Padlocks are almost always security theatre - you see a big chunky lock and think there's no way to get through that. The reality is that the thing the lock is attached to is almost always weaker than the lock itself. Often you just need to put a stick or bar through the padlock and twist it in order to break the thin sheet metal that they're usually clipped to.

Cast iron, not plastic. Cast iron does not bend; if you took a heavy hammer to your cast iron frying pan, you'd punch a hole right through it.

Many thieves already know this kind of thing, it's letting you know how easy it is to break into locks and should make you think about how much you rely on them... plus the more common knowledge this is the better imo as it should make future locks more resistant to such techniques.

Former Locksmith here, Obviously these are less likely to be successful if the lock is of a higher quality. With that being said; they should all work on locks of low quality. Though I don't exactly recommend locking your door with a broken fork, plus I do question the life-span of the key in #2. That would probably only work a couple times before you had to make a new one. Just go get a regular house key copied, they're like 3 dollars max.
