I had a superb example of missing people on a UK Census. In the South Wales Mining towns my grandfather had lived there for most of his adult life . Upon remarriage his daughter my great aunt. remained in the same area However I couldn't find her on any record after childhood until her death record. The details for her section of a road was missing. I had to search starting with the District working down to the road name. the whole page had been written as 2 words instead of 1 word, a common problem with welsh names. Once I found that I had to find the house number , the lady never married , and then I found her name was completely mis written so searching would NEVER have found her. The hand written name for "Lawrence" had been subscribed as "Zavinger". Fortunately Find My Past in this case had the correction on the site within a few days so it is worth doing .
