If you have aspergers relationship problems then this video can give you solutions.
Aspergers and relationship problems can be common, not because people with aspergers want it but they don't have all the skills a relationship requires the will occur. If you are dating someone with autism spectrum there are some things you can do to try to address these issues. One of the important things to know about aspies and relationships is that they can improve and if you work with them on those skills they lack those problems can be smaller.
If you know someone who has aspergers in an adult relationship this video can help them see some of the areas they have to work on. This video can also help someone living with aspergers partner, living with aspergers syndrome, living with aspergers husband, or autistic adults in relationships. Aspergers and love is possible, autism and dating problems can be overcome. This video is about aspergers and dating.

This channel is dedicated to educating the world about autism spectrum and promoting inclusion. We hope to teach people on the spectrum how to reach their pottential, their families how to help them out, and communities on how they can help better the lives of people on the autism spectrum, and include people with disabilities..
Right now the videos are being made by Craig Kohn. Craig was diagnosed with Aspergers as a child, and as he grew up he started realizing that he had to work on his social skills and improved himself dramatically all by himself. Craig has spent years working with people with disabilities in a professional setting. Craig is managing Teamautismpedia's social media presence. The channel looks forward to hosting experts on autism so that they can spread their knowledge.

@@earlgrayman982 I see my husband doing the same thing that I had him stop bc it makes him unpredictable. He works at the post office and so did I , too many unsavory characters working there with Al sorts of personalities outside of the work environment. I would say just be yourself and get therapy especially if you are in a relationship. The best to you .

One aspect of Autism is Theory of Mind issues; Like they don't get sarcasm well, and are quite literal, for example, it occurred to my 9 yr old daughter that the "The tooth paste lies" because it said on the label its "anti-cavity protection" and "prevents cavities"-- that when one with Autism makes the connection in the spirit of truth, and got a cavity, she felt terribly let down, wronged. Another thing is they are spiritual, meaning they get into a way of spirit of a thing (intensely staring for longer periods of time, entertaining in thought, fixated to the point where they tune out the surroundings. They have a one track mind, and are very determined once they get into the spirit of a way like "exploring" they will, in seeking happiness, try to go into every room in a hospital or office building greeting and meeting people along the way, and will have unrest if someone interferes with the happiness in that way. Most with Autism are very smart, like a 6 year old smart enough to know they cannot wright the abc's shown in the example, therefore they have anxiety and unrest and refuse to try because they don't want anxiety and unrest or to hear the rhetoric of error, falling short; but ironically by telling them it is practice, that liberty of truth is often enough for them to take part. Smart because of the way they remember, many photographically; yet when focused in the spirit of a way of truth, casually guided by one of the genuinely loving spirit of truth, (not one faking it by exaggerating phony demeanor) they are very good at learning, storing what they do-- if they are not distracted, by another source of happiness, in error, such as overstimulating environments) One problem with medicines like Ability meant to help them focus and organize thoughts is it working too well like when they are focusing in an inappropriate thoughts like determining to leave rather than staying to do school work for example, where they can be relentless. Another thing with the theory of mind part is they don't see the value of following rules or recognizing authority over them, part of which has to do with the nature of others; like if a teacher has anxiety or is having a bad day-- that way of error in spirit will be reflected in the child with Autism because it is thought that they have a tendency to mimic, but really they are sensitive to the way of spirit of others and do not want to have anything to do with a teacher who has the spirit of error, or error in spirit, underlying unrest- they can't fake their demeanor.

I wonder what your perspective is on this: I dated a 29 year old guy with autism for 5 months. It was our 1st relationship. We saw eachother everyday. He told me a lot about himself and always seemed happy with me. He didn't hug/kiss me unless I did though. One time I asked why and then he thought that he probably doesn't have enough feelings for me then. Although he shared a lot with me, including time, we made plans for the future.. And liked spending time with eachother. So much. He broke up with me and was very sure about it. He cried and needed a hug for the 1st time. I'm still very confused about it. I wrote him a letter goodbye, because it will hurt too much to stay friends. I wrote that I believe our relationship should have started where it ended, because we were finally open. But I also wrote that I'm thankful and wish him the best. At 1st it helped. But now I feel really bad for letting him go. I don't know how to feel, what to think and what to do...
@Deborah-jv3df

He also said that we had too much in common... Like nerd stuff, skating, baking... He wanted some kind of passion. I believed it would take us more time to feel that. He said a break up in the future would only hurt more. He had some expectation or view about how a relationship should be... I guess.

I've tried ending it on a open note since she was the one wanting to break up and like you said, staying just friends was too much.

@@Deborah-jv3df if you still care about him try being his friend. it was his first relationship and maybe the emotions and your connections was too much for him to handle. he probably doubts that he will be able to sustain the connection in the future and probably also worries about how you may react if you experienced one of his meltdowns. by being his friend it will reassure him that you will be there during the fun times but also the rough times

Hi Craig, I am an aspie that has a very difficult time interacting socially . I am married and, thankfully, my husband understands when I need alone time to recharge. If I am overwhelmed I will have meltdowns. This happens mostly if I feel trapped in a social atmosphere never at home though. I see a doctor every 6 months and that can ignite a meltdown. How do you deal with meltdowns? How do you deal with loud noises or your routine is interrupted ? Your delivery is improving a lot since I have been watching.👍 Namaste. :::Tere:::
@TeamAutismpedia
@TeamAutismpedia 6 жыл бұрын
I don't have meltdowns, but just see what you can do to control your environment to avoid triggering meltdowns. When I was a kid I had special ear plugs to help me avoid loud noises (affected me for a brief time). On routines I know those can be important to people, you will have to see how to deal with each routine individually (can't diagnose from afar). I would also encourage trying to look at meetup.com to see if there is a autism support group near you that you could possibly brainstorm solutions with people who can get you and your challenges.

Mother was told I have this when I was around 3 years old . I have a hard time understanding how to identity this in other people or even myself . I just know I am socially awkward person . And sometimes I dont understand why people sometimes do not me or call me crazy sometimes without even opening my mouth . I am really just unsure if this is just a fancy name for having a strange personality or something . Please can you tell me if you ever felt like this and if so did you discover more information so you could better identify it in yourself and other people .

I have been given so many labels since I was a kid because I just did not fit in . That I am very confused about what Aspergers really is , ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER has so many similarities to Aspergers as well as other things . That I am getting confused about them overlapping each other or these things are just some strange aspect of somebodies personalities .

Why should I have to change for another person to accept me? Even NT relationships are based on shared interests. I'm autistic and will only date someone if they share my special interests. Special interests are my strongest autistic trait. Same with friendships, once the interest was over, so was the friendship.
@stephencolligan
@stephencolligan 2 жыл бұрын
NT relationships,if successful,are actually based on shared values - not interests. A common interest can help,but that’s all. You might be better just joining some kind of club that caters for your interests perhaps,so that you don’t have to “change”.? Relationships are give and take ,or compromise - something AS people find difficult,hence the very high rate of marital failure.

@@stephencolligan I honestly never was interested in the concept of marriage or a relationship. But no, I don't expect a future husband or wife to change for me, why do I have to change for them? I've found most people are only interested in sex anyway.
