When he gets hit when he has his shield (Fortified Wager) up, he gets 2 points of Blind Bet, when an ally with his shield gets hit, he gets 1 point, and it takes 7 to trigger a FUA. But it didn't work that way, with one adventurine getting hit constantly and the other ones not getting any points for it.
