This is really inspiring. I have been searching on line for wigs because I have a thyroid condition and my hair gets dry, brittle and f sheds something awful from time to time. I began losing my hair in late March and early April of 2019 so I started wearing a wig but I bought the wrong one. So I get paid in 8 days and I'm going to buy a Godiva wig. Why does chemo cause the hair to fall out?

Hi Boomerang, although we aren't doctor's - here's what we do know. The chemotherapy medication causes the hair follicles to loosen from the scalp. Chemo is strong and this is one consequence. Some will say that hair loss is how they can tell the chemo is working. Please research for more info. Also, during chemo, the top of the head is important to keep warm - since women in chemo are more susceptible to colds/flu, etc. So, it's also important to wear a sleep cap or turban at night to keep the head warm.
