Thank you greatly for such a wounderful explanation!

the dark and light contrast of the colors was the same method i use to remembrer them and i find it so easy that way. Am surprised that it's not taught in that way often and am even more surprised that when i discussed this with my friends, they don't seem to get it.

Is it possible that two resistors have the same value but of different color bands?

It’s conceivable that an unusually high resistor inside tolerance and an unusually low resistor inside tolerance have the same value but unlikely. There is a degree of overlap.

Hmm... This is a catch 22. If you really want to have a very specific resistor value or as close to it as possible, not only do you have to calculate what the resistor value is but also have to take into account it's heat dissipation (Wattage) in the system as it'll change the resistive value of the resistor as more or less power goes through it. Electrical engineering is indeed a complex field 😳😵😵💫. That's why many low end boards/circuits are thrown together willy nilly and don't last or do a good job. Good engineering practices would require an engineer to put time and effort into thinking about every aspect of each component being put into a system.
