Well, you get land and a house. That sea view you are talking about will be some apartment in a high rise building with no land and bunch of idiots living on the floors above and below you. It really depends on your perspective. I do not put too much value on apartments in some high rise building.

There could be so many different reasons which only the owner would know! For example, first all owners try to have the maximum price for their property, if it's sold : nothing like it!
