My sister had long beautiful thick hair. A hairdresser convinced her she had split ends at every visit. Needless to say she chopped off most of her hair down to less than shoulder length. I think the hairdresser was just jealous.

A hairdresser ruined my hair out of pure jealousy. I noticed a shift in her energy when her male coworker praised my hair. I never went back to a hair salon since.

I absolutely agree. I also do not live near places to do my hair but ultimately stopped going to salons because they were not treating my hair with respect. Using boars hair brushes on wet hair or blow outs, cutting too much off when I asked for a trim or multiple people working on your hair. As you said, cheaper to do it yourself and you won't mistreat your own hair.

Got my hair done today and as usual 1. I hate how it came out 2. It cost me $150 3. The stylist insisted on using heat and a fine tooth comb!

You are SO telling the TRUTH; on ALL POINTS! I stopped going to Salons Years ago. Saved Myself Time, Money; and the Stress of lugging MY Own Implements & Products; because SO Many are SO DISHONEST; and Unsanitary. My Hair is now Healthy; and Growing rapidly!👑❤

Yes! I finally found someone really good at doing short haircuts, then I got to see her twice. Turnover is super high.

I did my own hair dye today. My mom said oh you finally went to the salon what a great job they did, it looks beautiful. I was like ughh thank you 😐🙄 I can bet anything if she finds out I did it myself, she will say oh my God you should have gone to the salon, look they left dye on your ear, they didn't straighten your hair out correctly, etc.

I just feel sorry for every woman who has caught a fake hairdresser. I would treat my customers' hair like my own hair and always make sure they are satisfied.

They always want to cut my hair. They tell me its damaged when its not at all. They also dont wash it thoroughly.

I went to the hairdressers yesterday for highlights, which were like 150 euros and I'm going to get some hair dye from the pharmacy-so disappointing! they burned the ends of my hair and the colour is really weird and nothing like i asked for once again. Glad im not the only one !

I am mixed in USA too ,Thick head of hair too ❤ I can't stand small town beauty salons,Drama & Jealousy plus lies saying I missed an appointment, not true I cancel after freaked hair color after older stylist chopped my hair fully off after a beautiful coloring , she told me don't go to anyone else, that she needs $200.00 Mafia hair stylist no thank .

That reminded me, one time I went to get my underarms waxed, but she still left quite a number of hairs, and I was the one doing all the work of plugging those out with the tweezers. At the end she said oh next time I might charge you more because yours is more work. Hello lady, I did all the work, I should have not paid you at all. Obviously I paid, but I never came back.

I have a pixie cut, and salons that cater to women just don't know how to do short hair correctly. I'd always have to get my mom to fix it. So I learned how to do it at home. Sometimes I need my mom to touch up some spots in the back that are hard to see with mirrors. The tools cost as much as 1 haircut.

Any type of salon whether it's hair, beauty, nails, tanning, brows or all of those rolled into one I've oh been a couple of times and I own products that get the job done just as effectively, and I used to know some friends who'd help me with achieving those tricky hairstyles or makeup (I'm hopeless at styling my own hair, but sometimes try. I've improved with make-up but still occasionally make errors oh well). Plus I'm happy to admit I have a mobile hairdresser and any hair dying I do is at home. No offence intended to those who have worked in hair & beauty related places but sometimes it can be synonymous with bitchiness....or is that just me?
