Pretty amazing how much difference there is in terms of value for money for housing in Southeast Asia. Cambodia, and Phnom Penh in particular, is known to be quite expensive. Myanmar, though, probably has some of the most shocking prices you'll find. Something that would cost $1000 USD in Bangkok can easily run 3-4x that in Yangon. Meanwhile, you can get literal mansions in several cities in Vietnam for $2000 or so per month.

I’m a local. I think you need to do more research before renting any space. You actually can get a decent room/space for 140/160$ a month (with air conditioner). I have bought a tiny studio here in PP at a 16th floor. The view looks almost as good as this. It costs only US$ 44,000. We, Cambodians, would rather buy a cheaper condo or house rather than spending a crazy amount of money on rent. Also, we mostly would not spend more than 1000$ on rental fees. The average rental prices the locals would pay are around $50-350. You actually can find a decent space with a decent price if you have time to do search for it. Side note: Cambodians have not preferred to own condos yet, and the prices are also much cheaper. Most Cambodians prefer to buy shophouses which much more expensive. A shophouse around the location you presented, BKK1, can easily cost $1 million while you can get a decent $70K condo there.

This maybe okay for richer Chinese interests but overall very expensive for Cambodia It be cheaper to live in a hotel with all the same facilities like gym swimming pools & room service & bed and & breakfast no extra bills for Air con electric, Gas, water, or maintenance plus you’ll have security all meals & drinks 🍷 for less than $1500 a month

Seeing the size of the walk in makeup room compared to the maids room in the last place you showed us tells me everything I need to know about what kind of a##holes would choose to stay in that place. 320sqm...so 315sqm living space and a 5sqm dungeon for the maid. You don’t know anything about Authenticity of Cambodia and this country has to offers before the Genocide . Cambodia was one of the finest, pure luxury and high qualities in terms of gems , finest gold and rubis and it’s natural resources qualities woods , forestries materials etc…. But the new era after the Genocides killing almost 3 and half millions elites, teachers , doctors etc…Cambodia is trying to rebuild slowly . Cambodia has been falling into many others invaders country destroying almost our natural resources and millions Chinese’s and Vietnamese’s still trying to blend into Cambodia system and take over many of our territories living the underprivileged left behind . My parent was one of top business owner of gems business , precious stones in Cambodia during years of 50-60-70. But nothing left behind all destroying Cambodia of the massacres Genocides has leave us only scars that each Cambodians people will live forever in our hearts . Cambodia nowadays it’s trying to recover and rebuild this country with the help of others nations please do your research profoundly about Cambodia before you give any negativity about this country .
