Great cards. I'm fascinated with the vinnies, I've picked up 2 recently and hope to get more.

Fantastic cards. I especially like the 1967 Venezuela topps set, it’s my favorite. Sam McDowell was really incredible. A lot of people are unaware of how good he was. For example. He and Nolan Ryan have the same number of years with a War over 6. He too was a strike out machine! Too. Bad he didn’t have the express’s durability. Great cards my friend!
@Valuevintagecards-Aaron19 күн бұрын
@@badershobbylife I agree, Sam is very overlooked for how good he was for a short time. He ended up with some solid stats, just such a short career. Thanks for sharing!

Cool to learn that about Sam. Not opposed to these. They can be neat and I can appreciate why one may be into them, just not anywhere near my favorite and looks wise, so its a...until I make it down the list and more so I'll wait post hype.
@Valuevintagecards-Aaron13 күн бұрын
@@OC-MC_Joe I get that for sure. I wonder if these will be seeing some steady growth. It seems the scarce issues are not as bubble sensitive as the mainstream issues.

I never knew Sam McDowell was fashioned after Sam on Cheers! Great history. I love the 68 topps venezuela Banks. He has such a magnetic smile. Another great episode!

@VintageCardWonderland thank you, my friend. It seems like if you read it enough on the internet, it becomes fact. The Sam Malone thing is widely discussed, so I take it as real.

Definitely cool cards! Now I’ll have to dig into the Sam McDowell story. Love the 80’s pop culture tie.
@Valuevintagecards-Aaron20 күн бұрын
@RustyVintageCards it's one of those urban legends more than facts, but it ties out. Lost his career too soon and was famous for being a ladies' man. Amazing, but way too short of a career for sure.

Nice cards! My preference in seeking Venezuelan cards is finding the cards of the Venezuelan players on the Venezulan teams or the major leaguers on the Venezuelan teams. They're also one of the few types of cards where I don't mind any paper loss because that's how people collected those cards back then, pasting them into scrapbooks.
@Valuevintagecards-Aaron20 күн бұрын
@jga59 absolutely agree, the unique to Venezuela issues are awesome. Same here with paper loss. Either extreme rare cards of pre war era or a Venezuelan cards are both acceptable for my collection. Thanks for sharing.

Not to be controversial here and I know I’m in the minority for saying this BUT I find these Venezuelan cards to be some of the least appealing cards ever produced. I get that people like scarcity including me but scarcity alone just doesn’t do it for me. I’m more concerned about the aesthetics of a card and given that the American produced releases are practically the same exact card except for the backs and the fact that the American issued cards are almost always sturdier way better looking (color, registration, etc.), I don’t understand the hype. Anyways no knock on you as I really enjoy all of your content and the cards you show but just figured I’d throw it out there. Keep up the great work Aaron.
@Valuevintagecards-Aaron20 күн бұрын
@51ringside3 thank you for sharing. I have a couple of friends that are definitely aligned with your perspective. I enjoy the variety in what folks find interesting. It is helpful that we don't all collect the same way or none of us would be able to afford the few cards we all want. For me, part of the draw is the story and history of those cards surviving. Always glad to hear a fellow hobbyist share their thoughts!
