Jason's case is so frustrating. 10 days after a teenager goes missing. A child who didn't have any history of running away or anything. Even if he did they should always treat missing children of any kind as top priority. This is fucking nuts.

This has always been frustrating to me. The police just always assume a teenager has run away, probably because it is common. However, when they are told that running away would be uncharacteristic and he's never done it before and was not upset, etc, the police still refuse to take any of that into account. Missing or abducted persons are time sensitive events and very often the police lose any advantage they might have had if they had taken it seriously and starting their investigation immediately. Police incompetence is a problem that effects lots of crimes.

And I'm sure people who prey on teens are well aware of the fact that the cops will likely delay the search, thinking the kid ran away. This is a senseless and dangerous policy.

Actually his mom understands that its impossible to raise the alarm immediately. She said so herself in a lengthy interview from 2016 here on KZbin. The police get an awful lot of youngsters who disappeared and returned. Still, 10 days really seems a bit much.....😢

Jason's case i watched from another channel they said his brother heard some kind of noise or sounded like he was speaking to some one while wheeling the trash bins back to side of the house. His brother ignored it becuase he didn't think any thing abnormal. And why would the cops be surprised they didn't have any evidence or find anything when searched wasn't conducting until 10 days later. The whole investigation was ruined.

So it’s like this. When it comes to sex rings and sex trafficking, a lot of investigations get called off by upper management, as some of them are directly involved. They wont approve of a thorough search as that would uncover incriminating evidence against people who are sworn to protect people. Also people who are idolized are apart too and it’s hard to believe ur fav person is a freak

I think Jason was lured. Not into a car but into a home or shed by someone he knows. Although he’s punctual, imagine his sweet ol neighbor needing seemly quick easy help, whom he knew for years if not his entire life, to help his dilemma, the neighbor offers him some money or a ride to work after he’s done. That aside Jason sounded like a great young man. Heart goes out to his family. So cool he was into broadcasting too !

About Jason's case. I was reading a couple of the reddit threads and ppl who knew him said somethings that make me wonder if he had high functioning autism. My ex has it as well as 2 family members I grew up with. The reason I bring this up is because, ppl with this condition can often be naive/too trusting because their brain is wired in a way that make is very difficult to pick up on if someone is using them, trying to manipulate them, or has nefarious intent in mind. I know his family are saying "He would never get take a ride from..." but if he had that condition, then it's totally plausible. Especially if being punctual was something he often hyper fixated on and a friend popped up offering him a ride. Ppl w/ high functioning ASD are very repetitive in their daily life because certain, sudden changes can really mess with their brains sometimes. So for everyone else, being late for work could be "whatever." But for someone with this condition, even the prospect of being a minute late for work could have really messed with his head. I really do think he took a ride from someone he thought was harmless but that turned out not to be the case.

Ive always got the vibes from this case, that drunk driver hit him accidentally, threw him in the trunk in a panic and drove off into the sunset. I dont even know why, but I recently saw another tuber walk his route thru, same time of day and the roads were just empty. That just enforced my feelings that someone lives with huge secret and unbelievable guilt.
@Pushing_Pixels
@Pushing_Pixels 9 ай бұрын
The people who knew him best said he was very wary of strangers. If he did get into a car willingly, it was someone he knew fairly well. I would be looking at his workplace. There may have been conflicts going on that his family and friends didn't know about. Unfortunately, the Omaha Police completely botched the case by refusing to investigate it for over a week. If you want to find a missing person, you need to start within 24 hours as the trails go cold pretty quickly, and witnesses start to forget things. That level of incompetence, laziness and callous indifference is shocking, especially as he had a disability. The police that made that decision should've lost their jobs, as they are worse than useless, they are a hindrance. That PD would literally be better and more effective if they weren't in it.

Imagine surviving a war, living to the ripe old age of 82, and then to be just gone… in the very atmosphere that you’ve grown and learned to love and master. That’s so sad. One thing though, i understand that both the older men were in their natural element, both experts in survival, and trained. However, both these men were not in their prime anymore. So it’s more of a chance that someone could get the drop on them a bit easier than we all would assume. And going missing that close together, and the fbi being involved… yeah, no. Also, regardless of how many people are searching, how meticulous they are at searching, it’s still highly dense, wooded terrain. It’s literally impossible to cover every inch of the area no matter how good they are or how extensive they try to be. No hate on anyone, I’m sure they all did their absolute best, but it is simply not possible and very easy for anything to be missed. Just facts… but one can’t help thinking, if there’s zero evidence, along with the rest of the information we have, I don’t think it’s outrageous to be skeptical about the people in the groups they went out with. Yes, I know they were out with people they knew and obviously trusted (going into the woods with someone armed) such as close friends and family members, however, it seems with the facts we have, those are the only people who could have gotten the drop on them. Now, I’m not accusing anyone of anything, just stating the obvious.. it’s weird to me that there’s not really much mention of the depths of investigation authorities did on the very last people to see them alive.. normally you’re guilty until proven innocent even if it’s not supposed to be that way, but reality IS just that, so why is it more plausible to say these two men just vanished without a trace rather than someone, or multiple someones did something to them? Just very odd. Doesn’t seem right.

About Messick’s case, when Sid Sharpe said he heard a strange sound that same day, it instantly reminded me of the night me and 3 others heard a strange sound coming from the woods, and slowly moving towards us. One might, me and 3 others were out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by woods,, at my boyfriend’s aunt’s house. We were in there backyard jumping on a trampoline, having a good time. Nearest neighbors were, I couldn’t even tell you, this was a a remote location in some tiny town in Minnesota just mostly woods all around. It was about 3 in the morning or so. Anyway, suddenly we started hearing this crazy weird sound coming from the treeline. Could we’ve even hear it moving closer by the sound it making was getting louder and by the rustling of the bush. Could sense whatever it was, was definitely watching us. The sound, I can’t even begin to d scribe it either. Never heard a sound like that before. But the best description i can give is it sounded like robotic or computerized or like some crazy loud glitchy fax machine, but even these descriptions aren’t completely it. And my gut feeling did NOT like it. I don’t as absolute scared and every ounce of me wanted away from it. I was the first to run in the house and when I got in, I was praying the hardest I’ve ever had up until that point. I was beyond creeped out the worst I’ve ever been in my life. Shortly after me , the other girl who was with us came in terrified also. We were both worried about our boyfriends still out there. But we were not going back out to get them, we were that scared. My boyfriend was the last to come in, didn’t finally come back in the house until 5 or 6 am! And he did not want to mention a word about it. After we slept and got up, I figured he’d finally want to talk about it. But he told me very seriously that he never wanted to discuss it. Change subject. Drop it. So to this day whatever happened that night and whatever that was that was making that sound has been a big mystery to me. Honestly, there are some things I’d rather not know!

Perhaps there was someone he knew or was close to that offered him a ride along the way, and concinved Jason that he had already communicated witht be coworker awaiting him at the school that they (the perpetrator) would give him a ride all the way instead. 6:57 A stranger pulls up...points a gun and says, "Get in." No struggle, no noise, no extra attention. Jason's size is irrelevant. He doesn't have to know the abductors to be forced to get in. Has nothing to do with his work schedule. This is what happened to Alex Yost in 1989, as well as to Joey Rambish in 2001. Its not so far fetched AND solves all the "very unlikely" possibilities.

Sadly, it has often been the incompetence of professional institutions that have led to answers never being found in some cases. In the heyday of serial killers (70s and 80s), children were still treated like runaways in pretty much every report of a missing person and sexual misconduct was not reported was not reported as long as the person resigned. Police can still react by telling families to wait a full 48 hours when if you know anything about missing persons cases, the first 48 hours of a case are the most crucial to the eventual solve rate.

Regarding the Jason case it’s plausible that he could have helped a neighbour regardless of the tight time frame he was on. It’s not going to take more than a few seconds to let’s say help a neighbour move their trash and if the neighbour lured him in the back yard Jason could have been hit on the back of his head and fell unconscious. No witnesses, no noises.

I could be thinking about a different case but didn't they try to use tracker dogs to find Thomas Messick? I remember hearing that the dogs were able to pick up a scent at the car and follow it to Messick's hunting blind but that's where it stops. . The only thing that makes sense is Messick walked back to the car area, got in a car and left with someone... willingly or unwillingly. Tracking dogs can pick up a scent but they can't tell which direction the scent is going. So they wouldn't be able to distinguish if Messick's sent was going from the car to the blind or if Messick's scent was going from the blind back to the car area. For all we know, Messick left something in the car and went back to get it. Once there he met with foul-play. The metallic sound that was heard was a car door... a damaged car door which is why it didn't sound like a car door. He didn't use his walkie talkie because he didn't think he needed to until it was too late or couldn't. MAYBE he went back to the car to get fresh batteries for his walkie talkie... which would explain why he couldn't tell anyone he was headed back to the car. The only question that I still have is what could an 80+ guy possibly have gotten into to get himself kidnapped? Did he see poachers? Maybe a serial killer dumping a body? Lol. I just don't know.

Not knowing ALL the facts regarding Jason's case. My first thought was that he was perhaps involved in a hit and run....However, rather than just running, the perpetrator placed his body in into the vehicle to dispose of and to "get rid of any evidence".
@1TakoyakiStore

The total absence of any evidence tells me that whatever happened happened very quickly and was likely just an unfortunate accident. A possible scenario that comes to mind is a construction worker accidentally leaving a manhole uncovered for a brief period of time (i.e. 15 minutes to a few hours unattended) and Jason being a typical intovert and getting lost in his own mind wasn't paying attention to where he was walking and fell into the manhole. The construction worker came back and put the manhole cover back on. I would love to see what roadwork was being done in that area at that time.

Goodness… I think Jason’s neighbor is highly suspect. There’s no evidence Jason even walked anywhere: no witnesses (except the neighbor said he started walking off to go to work) no camera footage. And of course the suspect would say Jason was heading off to work, to throw off any suspicion on himself. The brother said that Jason was talking with someone outside, ding ding ding, probably the neighbor. Perhaps the neighbor offered him a ride to work, or asked Jason if Jason could help him with something in his house real quick. Maybe Jason said , “No, I can’t, I don’t have time because I have to get to work.” Then the neighbor could’ve said, “it’ll only take a minute and then I’ll drive you to where you need to be.” The moment Jason is inside the garage or home I of the neighbor, his back could’ve been turned while he was ambushed or hit on the head to knock him out. Then the suspect had all that time to clean up and dispose of the body. Thats my theory given from all I know about this case.

I have 2 personal theories on the Thomas Messick case, both revolve around the weird FBI involvement which as you mentioned is already incredibly weird. 1-The area might be a hot spot for stuff we don’t know about or understand yet, UFO’s, creatures in the woods, something along those lines, which is why the FBI took interest in this to make sure if something was found it wouldn’t spill all over national television etc, they like their secrets. 2- He might’ve been some sort of spy back in his day and knew too much, so the FBI might’ve had his friends “take care of him” or the people they know would be in danger. But why wait so long? Why not do it themselves? I know, lots of holes, but as ridiculous as they sound, they are the only 2 that remotely make sense.

In the Jason case, it feels to me that it was someone very close by, someone that the family knew and trusted. They offered to give him a ride early on in his walk, and he was never seen again. In my mind, it's highly likely that this person stayed near by, made comfortable by how badly the police dropped the ball, and even after they did donsome investigation, their investigation was less than thorough, to put it mildly. The person who did this very likely even participated in searches etc, so as not to draw attention to himself .. just my gut feeling. Just a very sad situation.

I don’t know why but I get the vibe that whatever happened to Thomas was accidental or unintentional. He was old, blind in one eye, had mobility issues…unfortunately, regardless of how much experience one has, all of those factors affect a persons ability to traverse through dense woods. It’s also very difficult to fully search a wooded area like that. Not saying the search and rescue team didn’t try, but it’s not at all uncommon to hear about people going missing in the woods, being searched for extensively but never found, then being found years later. I think he probably took a fall or became incapacitated somehow, which made it impossible for him to use his walkie talkie to reach out for help.
