Thank you to the State of Wisconsin for the 7th days Canoeing down the Namekagon River. It was fun and joy memories of my life in the summer of 1980 when I just fifteen.

Glad this brought back some good memories for you. Such a great river! We just finished the St. Coix last year, 16 days in all. Planning to canoe the entire stretch of Namekagon next summer.

Cool video I was wondering from Hayward to Trego I know it follows close by to 63 I believe can you hear the traffic a lot? We have always gone from Trego down and it is very quiet.
@UpNorthAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes you can hear traffic quite a bit. And lot of tubers on that stretch too.

Love the design on the paddle. WOW! Now I want one. lol Never seen those "inflatable things" in use... portable couches. nice! So relaxing. Wonderful group of people just out to have a good time. Great video work as always. Thanks for sharing Kevin!

Thanks! I did the woodburning on the paddle of two of my favorite places and animals. Moose at Mt. Katahdin and Eagle at St. Croix River. That inflatable couch was super comfy! I joked getting out of it saying I felt like I was reborn.. literally lol. Then we started calling them the inflatable vaginas. I know a little disturbing but funny at the time. Alcohol may have been involved.

Thank you! I messed up my knee so backpacking has been on hold. I need my mother nature fix though so canoeing it is. Very relaxing indeed!

Always a great trip on the Namekagon! I subbed to your channel by the way. Looking forward to catching up.
@sjklahn5 жыл бұрын
@@UpNorthAdventures I saw that. Much appreciated for the sub back. Hey I'm trying to do some homework for the Namekagon. What kind of fish should i expect to catch? Because fish will be my main supply of protein.
@UpNorthAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response this was marked as spam for some reason. I mostly catch Bass and pike but there is a wide variety. We were out a couple weeks ago on the St.Croix and my wife caught a Musky. Nameakagon is the St.Croix's main tributary in case you didn't know. So Musky would also be present in the Nam.

Nicely done video. I've paddled that section and it is really a great stretch of river. Boy, you had perfect weather, too, to enjoy it.

How did you know where you could camp?
@UpNorthAdventures2 жыл бұрын
You can find all the maps here... www.nps.gov/sacn/planyourvisit/maps.htm Including the designated campsites. We started this trip on county road K and took out at riverside landing which is the first campsite/landing after the you enter the St. Croix from Namekagon. There is a park headquarters in Trego. Near the Cty K landing. They are very friendly and informative. Enjoy!

Is the Namekagon and St Croix rivers hammock friendly in their campsites?
@UpNorthAdventures2 жыл бұрын
There was only one time we had to use our hammocks like a bivy. Other than that we haven't had a problem.
@UpNorthAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Probably want to avoid sites 125.5 and 110.
