4 Day Fishing Adventure Goes Wrong! (TRAILER DESTROYED, new tire, boat shuts down)

Our 4 day fishing adventure to east Texas was a COMPLETE DISASTER! we started with a tire replacement on the truck hauling our boat and halfway through the trip our trailer got destroyed somehow the winch post assembly cracked, and is no longer safe to drive with until fixed. We had to make due with a small strap until the trip concluded and everytime we went to load the boat we were very nervous about further damage.
But, we got some amazing footage of some of Texas and Louisiana’s most scenic locations featuring Brandy Branch Lake (power plant lake), the iconic Caddo Lake (launched from uncertain tx, near government ditch), and Cross Lake in Shreveport to finish the trip. Enjoy!

The weld on the footplate of the winch tower was janky from the get go. There was little to no penetration on that weld. Combine that with the fact that the footplate itself should have been made with thicker steel. Fastest route would be to buy a new winch tower, but I'd look for something aftermarket from a reputable source or find a fab shop that can build you a better one. Looks like they definitely cut corners there. Not the first time I've heard of that happening with their trailers.

Something similar happened to a friend and what he did was look for welding shops in the area. They offered to make a new piece out of a thicker gauge and welded it on for him then he stopped at walmart for some prime and paint and we were back on the water the next day as we let the paimt dry overnight. I know some mechanic places have helped pple, pretty much anyone who has a welder. Hope this helps, glad u were able to enjoy fishing and the strap worked well for you.

Its been real tuff for bass crappie are hit and miss in the open area out in front of the ramp to the damn if ur scoping and find schools thats what it is and they are big slabs The way most of the lakes have been fishing around here this past year im close to retiring the bass gear and switching to the crappie side lol

That concrete wall you fished on caddo is a buddy of mines lake house he owns a trucking company. Good dude and great prices. Side note in 2015 that lake flooded historically and he had entire cypress trees go through the house. It's now hanging on the porch with and air duct hooked up to blow cool air out the knot holes LMAO it's legit
