This brought back so many fond memories and the excitement I had when I first visited Vancouver. I had a lot of similar emotions that you had during your visit. It was instrumental to me growing my self confidence as a solo traveler. I used to live in Iowa, but kept visiting Vancouver and now I have been living here for almost 5 years now. You never know what the future will hold for you :) And Vancouver will always welcome you back with open arms :)

Just stumbled on this video. So happy you really loved your trip to Vancouver. The funny thing is having lived just outside Vancouver my whole life I often forgot to take advantage of all the wonderful things to see and do in Vancouver/BC 🇨🇦 I know you looked at filming locations. So I'm sure you're aware many shows and movies are filmed here. I noticed the Lions Gate Bridge in your way video several times and you went over it going to the capilano suspension bridge. As you passed by Stanley Park and got to the entrance to the bridge there are 2 very cool lion statues. Fun fact: Lionsgate films/studios was named after that bridge. They're known for movies such as The Hunger Games, John Wick, Twilight franchises/many more including tv shows.

Interestingly enough, the hotel that you're staying in was where we first stayed when we moved to Vancouver way back in the "dark ages" of 1969 in the last millenium. I've lived here ever since, except for a couple of years living in Trail BC almost 57 years ago. When you come to Vancouver, make sure that you ride all the rides, Canada Line, Expo Line and Millenium Line. The Expo line was built for Expo 86, a worlds fair and also the 100th aniversay of the founding of Vancouver. Also the Sea-bus will take you to North Vancouver. There's a gondola that will take you up the side of Grouse Mountain to see a view the whole city. The vast majority of those high-rise building did not exist when I moved here, the tallest building in the city was the Marine Building which was built in 1930. Since I moved here, I've walked, driven, bussed, Sky-Trained, Sea-Bussed and Canada Lined the whole city including the North Shore too, and out the Fraser Valley to Chilliwack. There is a road that I discovered many years ago called Zero Avenue, it runs along the border between Canada and the US. It's also very heavily monitored by the police and border security because people sometimes use it try to sneak into Canada or, before legalization, they'd try to smuggle weed across the border.

If it’s any comfort it’s a very expensive city to live in! Beautiful but expensive.

Your video came across my youtube feed...great video of my city. I really should explore it more. You must come back and explore more outside the downtown. Whistler Victoria, or even nearby Steveston Village. You will love it. I'll be happy to serve as tour guide 😊😊

At 20:20, you show an aerial view of a rail yard. That was where I worked on my very first job way back in 1977. I was what they called a "yard checker", before computers, they had to know exactly where every single train car is so, I would walk up and down the rail lines doing two seperate lines at a time writing down the particular "line" the car was on, which direction I was walking in and the number on the side of the train-car. In the summer it was great, in the winter when it drizzles constantly it was not so good.
