Love this place, probably my favorite hiking spot!! So untouched and incredible once dropping into the canyon.

Lovely video and memories! I loved the timelapse of the reflections in the window 1:30 and great shot of King Julian the dormouse. And you got the Cape cobra 9:01 ! I am hoping to capture some of my own footage of this place this season 😋💦

I just remembered - what happened to that very convincing shot of me drinking tea that you were willing to bribe someone to do? Was the acting substandard? 😂

Great video Daniel. You captured the essence beautifully. So is hiking here entirely discouraged and unavailable to the general public or does one have to treasure hunt for access?
@daniel_johnson_pmbpk Жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's possible to gain access as part of certain hiking clubs and things like that, I think the MCSA might have access, though I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure

Lovely video and music. It inspired by Hermann Hoek's hiking videos?

Thank you, and well spotted! I'm a long way off from anything near that quality, but did indeed take some inspiration from his slower and more atmospheric approach to filming and editing

How can a mountain range be private property. That is just Criminal
@daniel_johnson_pmbpk Жыл бұрын
It's fortunately not the entire mountain range, just a small section which includes the majority of the bit along the river. I think it was formerly owned as part of a local farm, but is now something like a private nature reserve owned by an organisation (not an individual or family). The ecosystem is quite fragile, and so access is controlled to keep it healthy and pristine.
