My Aunt & I drove off the side of the mountain in her Volkswagen Bug down from Neel Gap when I was a little girl. Somehow we managed to get out of the car & hiked to Mountain Crossings at Neel Gap and slept in a pay phone booth until my Dad came to find us. It was a cold dark rainy night. River tubing is SO fun! I grew up in Connecticut & when I was a kid, we would go tubing down the Farmington River all the time! I’ve been tubing in the Santa Fe River to the springs in Florida, but there are no rapids in the Santa Fe like there were in the Farmington! We would come back with bruised butts from all of the rocks!😂 Of course, at that time, they were just huge, black inner tubes, probably from trucks! Oh yeah, Bill Bryson’s book was MUCH better than the movie! 😉

Grew up eating boiled peanuts. I always had to stop on the side of the road when my Mom was with me to get them. I’m from GA but live in SC now. Interesting fact is SC produces more peaches every year than GA even though GA is known as the Peach state. Enjoying your videos. Just came across your channel. Seeing y'all do this road trip reminds me of a family vacation I took MANY years ago, we did a riad trip from south of San Antonio Tx all the way to northern North Dakota in a little hatchback car with 2 adults, 2 kids (my older brother and I)10 and 12 and 2 gassy chihuahua's. Seeing Mt. Rushmore in person was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it if you're ever in the area. *Edit* the guy holding the Bigfoot footprint cast was Josh Gates from one of my favorite programs "Expidition Unknown" if y'all havent seen it I highly recommend it.

Ga peaches are the best and boiled peanut stands and peach stands were in every corner along with watermelons. Savanna is beautiful and so much to do. To bad you aren’t coming to Auburn Alabama so much to see. Have so much in Ga

I'll be honest, I'm still kinda sad that BP family is leaving Indonesia. But again, I would do the same if it meant connecting the kids to their roots, American roots, and finally they can feel what its like to be American. Just a thought and no disrespect at all . But maybe you guys could look into buying one of those foldable wagons for the little guy to sit in while you are all out walking ? I’m sure it could have a tone of uses in Alaska as well ❤

We had one of those before we moved overseas, but realized strollers are really hard to use where we lived in India (no consistent sidewalks). We got rid of ours, but maybe we will need it again.
