Black Carrot Cake is actually made from steam radish cake that has been fried. There is a black and a white version. The black version is slathered with a black sweet sauce that is meant to caramelise a bit on the wok to give you a bit of char. It's usually cut into smaller pieces so more of the radish cake can be covered by the sauce. The white version doesn't have the sauce and is savoury. It will usually have preserved radish and possibly more egg. You can get both versions on one plate if you like or you can get one version only.

That creature you saw crawling around at the Gardens by the Bay is a monitor lizard. I'm not sure which species it is but it looks like it a Malayan Water Monitor Lizard. They can grow up to 3m in length and are relatively common in Singapore parks especially those that have ponds or rivers featured in the park.

fellow singaporean here! nice to see that you had a great time here :) although for future reference, if you ever get to try the kaya toast bread and egg again, you might want to pour less soy sauce into the egg since too much sauce might overpower the egg flavour XD rather, i would have added abit of sauce & abit of pepper, and then mix the egg + condiments well, before dipping my toast into the egg! the authentic singaporean way :)

Tong Fong Fatt chicken rice is much better chicken rice than Tian Tian at Maxwell food centre . Don’t be fooled just because it has no queue . But my favourite chicken rice at B1-35 Golden mile food centre . Much better choice is stall 93 roast duck, char siew noodle or rice at Maxwell food centre . You were just sitting in front of the stall in the video .Tian Tian is a lousy chicken rice for me. Most tourist make the mistake thinking this a good chicken rice
