If the Db jump instead of grabbing, he will make this play, I agree with he should understand the body language and and have the field awareness , he will have to make sure he doesn't get to high on the wr if he is turning inside because he will never see the near should rotate back to the sidelines to indicate throw behind

The corner has to get the receiver inside or carry the onside release he should be reading the #2 wr if wr2 breaks out the corner will take him. If 2 stays vert and 1 stays vert the corner should carry if there is no other threat the biggest problem is not getting 1wr inside and the safety not going through his reads he should be high on this, playing the 1with this route combo, a little more depth from the safety would help because the field becomes wider in the red zone he would need a better angle to get to the 1

Great analysis coach! One question. You said that Cover 6 is run to the field. Would it ever be called to the strength of the formation? Thank you sir!
@GridironStuds4 жыл бұрын
Cover 6 is a split coverage. Cover is what is run to the field and into the boundary they run Cover 2. 4 + 2 = 6.

And yes, it can and will be run to the strength of the formation. When the ball is in the middle of the field, that is the way that it would shake out. Some coaches may have the cover 4 be played to the passing strength of the formation.

So for example. A team comes out with a 2 x 2 set with two WRs to one side and a TE and a WR to the other with the back set to the TE side. In such a formation, the strength is to the TE, however, with two WRs to the other side, that could be determined to be the passing strength of the formation to which Cover 4 would be played to that side and Cover 2 played to the TE side.

Why did the jets dB open the gate that fast against Ruggs smh I understand he respects his speed but got damn

Great breakdown coach. Why did the corner press inside in cover 2? I know the receiver is in a minus, but with having 2 receivers to his side wouldn’t he want to be in O/S leverage and reroute everything inside of him?

Great point. There are some coaches that prefer to play Cover 2 this way forcing an immediate outside release. There is the chance too that Cover 2 was not the coverage and it could have been some kind of trap coverage. Without actually being there to know the call, I am merely proposing a theory.

What positions should I play in high school. I’m 5’5 115 8th grader. I’m really explosive and can change direction really quick. I hit pretty hard and I’m a good tackler. I’m pretty fast. My coach had me playing inside line backer and Wide receiver in middle school.

Play what your coach is asking you to play. You are young. You will continue to grow. As you mature you will have a better idea of what you should play.
