My 1st car was a 73' Coronet we called her Big Blue. Had a 400 low in her took it out punched it out .060" and put in a 383 steel crank and internally balanced it with set of 915 heads 2.19/1.81 valves, 850 double humper, Eddy intake, 3,600 stall and 4.30 gears out back.Left the stock hubcaps on her built a bad ass sleeper.This was in late 90's when the Maro's and Stangs where all the rage on the street.Almost a year straight was racing every week won em all but 2 races "only cause they both where running NOS" it was a good time back then.That car was a tank get her going 120-130 and she lifted up and had body sway going on feel like u where on a roller coaster.

I have a 66 coronet 440 4 door with a poly 318. Building a 68 383 with hp exhaust manifolds, weiand intake, home ported 906 heads, Ferreira valves (stock valve size), Icon 4.5 cc dome pistons, and Crane 222/234 114 lobe separation cam with 750 cc edelbrock performer carb. Plan is for 2500 stall 727 with 3.91 gears in a 489 case. Clutch style surgrip

Go/ some tuning to do. But gears, converter, sometimes when watch these video i feel better about the 5.9 magnum in a 94 dakota i put together, in the 96 ram it ran a best 14.42 at 99. Stuffed it in 94 reg. Cab dakota it 13.4 with 245k on the speedo. This time with 2300 stall woke it up nice.

I had a '73 in that color, but base trim, engine and three-on-the-tree. I've never had a worse car, but I never had one I loved more than The Green Latrine.

All that hype, noise and modern aftermarket parts for a 14.44 second, sub 92 MPH pass... About the only impressive thing here is the 60 foot time, as evidenced by the relatively quick ET compared to the relatively slow trap speed. I guess the positive spin is that building the car was a good learning experience. It also looks decent for what it is.

Its pretty much the same amount of sheet metal.. just with extra door hinges. As you can see here, the two extra doors don't slow it down at all... some people more about image than actual performance.
