I don''t think your DIY video is as bad as you do. While the embroidery was a blink-and-you-missed it moment but your new, you're learning. The projects themselves are my aesthetic and I'd never think to tone-on-tone spider but I love it. The preserved spider web is incredible. I can't wait to try that.

I loved this! They were explained fine. You feel so real and not like you were all polished for the influence. You seem to care more. The skull is my favorite too. I love them all. I have done tone on tone embroidery before, but I never thought to do black on black. My usual is ecru on ecru. I pick up ornate frames whenever I can find them at reasonable prices. Lately I have been painting them all black. Must be the season. Thank you so much for sharing these great ideas.

@@decorwithkay It's probably the most common color for tone on tone but I'm older so I still say ecru sometimes. It's off white, eggshell, natural, beige, cream, fawn, I don't know what the kids are calling it these days. Have you ever tried candlewicking? It's basically the same thing, but with larger thread. It's traditionally done with unbleached muslin and cotton thread about the size of, you guessed it, wick. Look at me talking like I know so much about embroidery, which I really don't.

I would hasten to add, try to make sure its an abandoned web because spiders are great for catching any creepy crawlies that try to get in your house so its best to let them do their job. You explained everything fine. I really enjoyed this video and you have some original ideas. I do miniatures but don't have the nerve to do videos. You did really well and got a new subscriber from London in the UK. The embroidery came out really well❤

Love the crafts but, for anyone looking to do the preserved spiderweb, please make sure its a cobweb (spider no longer inhabiting it) and not a spiderweb. While some people may not care, this is a spider's home so please be mindful.

Without a doubt, the framed spiderweb is THE coolest thing ever. I am so excited to do this. Are you familiar with aging techniques with painting? I might suggest trying it for your cool skull coming out of the frame. Add a very generous amount of water to some raw umber acrylic paint. Paint it on and then wipe away the high spots. Last, drybrush with grey or other color, and lastly with a small amount of white. Just Google for tutorials. You will LOVE it.

These are awesome!! I had a thought about the book, could you put mod podge on some of the embroidery floss and use that instead of hot glue? You said you were going to use twine but the floss is so nice. I'm definitely going to try tone on tone embroidery. That looked amazing!! Can't wait to see the sign you teased!
