When I first started writing poetry and journaling as a girl, one of my earliest poems was about moving to Avalon. 20 years later, I ended up buying a late Victorian home in a town of the same name. Talk about manifesting! I've slowly moved more into kitchen witchery and household magick. Decorating mindfully helps me have visual triggers for bringing magick into my space daily. :) Love this!

It really spoke to me when you discussed non specific manifestation. I lived in a house that I loved for many years and lost it for financial reasons. I moved into a few places after, that never felt like home. I casted with the sole intention of just wanting to find contentment. And it seems what I really wanted was the home I had lost. It wasnt perfect, it didnt even have the updates that the places I moved to had. It was not modern. It had one bathroom, 3 floors and was 104 yrs old. But the universe knew and the people who bought my house sold it to me 10 yrs ago. It had sat empty since I had moved out. They lived out of state and just couldnt deal with the reno so they called me out of the blue to see if I wanted to purchase it. It is for all intents and purposes now, a 4th generation forever family home. Great video. Purple and green are my favorite color combo.

Your childhood bedroom dresser is French Provencal, most likely from Sears, in the 60s. My sister and myself, and my cousin all had the same furniture. I kept mine, and painted it along with everything else imaginable. I used wild colors, and created a 10 year old girls dream room. I hid secret messages in the multitude of patterns I painted on everything. There was nothing subtle in this room. It took me 9 months. I revealed it on her 10th birthday, at her party. It served her well. She's now almost 33, and I have since gotten a degree in interior design. I'm glad I didn't have it then or the direction of her room would have been very different. My ,now ex, husband always said it looked like an Easter egg threw up in there. It was great fun for her and her friends, and for myself while creating it.

Congrats on your new home! You really have made it super cozy. One tip I have is I grew up in an old farm house with a tiny hot water heater. My mom had a giant pot she would boil water in. She'd get the water boiling and then fill the tub as much as we could normally, then add the giant pot of boiling water and then top off the tub with the cool water (after the hot water heater water runs out), so it is a way to take a nice warm bath without waiting between adding water so the first bit doesn't cool down.
@HedgeHearthAndHarvest4 ай бұрын
Thanks! I did that for the first month before having my partner look in the basement to discover the heater could be turned up so it will definitely still be hot enough after the 40 minutes. Honestly, carrying pots of hot water up a flight of stairs wasn’t ideal lol.

@TheHedgeWitchsHearthHomestead I'm glad the heated water situation got resolved! Water is my main way to destress or decompress, so my heart really went out when you mentioned the water issue. Yes, you would expect it to be a "yt" female using all the European terms, ideas, cultural practices and aesthetics mentioned here "cottage witch" "Green witch", even the word "witch" itself, which comes from the Old English term "Wicce". but you know, cultural appropriation and all is obviously happening here. Why are you happy to see someone who looks like you copying and appropriating the ideas and traditions of a European? Why wouldn't you instead wish to see someone who looks like you practicing the old cultural practices of her own ancestors instead of mine? Weird.

I love your kitty and your vibe. I have begun my Pagan lifestyle when I was fifteen years and still do today. Never been much of a trendy following-type of person it's exhausting. Plus, something that I found out at twenty-five years is that I've been autistic half my life and had no way to cope with the changes or with difficult people or how to help myself. Once I met my fiancé, he has helped me to accept my roots as a Pagan, my AuDHD traits and bring back colours and fun back into my life, which I was lacking for a few years. You have inspired me to do a whole makeover to our future home. We are in the process of buying a family home. It is part of our manifestation process; I truly hope that we are able to bring forth our aura colours into our future home. He's a born earthy-warm, honest, go-getter, intelligent person- he is green, I am a hyperactive, DIY doer, risk taker, too many interests and too little time - a red. Lol! I hope we both do our renovation justice. Thanks for inspiring us with your beautiful energy! Happy new subscribers!

@HedgeHearthAndHarvest5 ай бұрын
Interesting! But would that give it a flat, chalky texture though? 🤔
@lindsaybrice29665 ай бұрын
Place the chalk paint in a container and add water. The pigmented color will act as a stain more than a paint. When it drys on fabric it may be a little "crunchy" to the touch. But then you can use a dry sponge to buff (like sand paper) and you will be left with a soft exterior with the color you want😊

I have seen a tv program on design here in the UK where the furniture upholstery was painted with some type of paint and it looked great, it may be worth having a look on Google or you tube about what was used. Great interiors by the way. Xx

OMG, I loved this video that came up in my feed! I watched the complete video over two days. I love your sense of styling your home, and listening to your commentary and views on "intentional maximalism" and other topics, and the details of your projects! I got some new good ideas to use in my home. I'm amazed at your patience in dyeing the fabric on the couch and chair, and reupholstering the chair and painting the frame!! It turned out fantastic!! I also like your 4-poster bed ideas! Can I ask you, what type of paint did you use on your bedroom dressers that you beautifully transformed?

That felt like a real journey! Thank you for starting this channel and sharing so much witchy wisdom and practical tips with us! If I could give your home an interior decoration descriptor, I would call it dark cottagecore -- my absolute favourite style! I am trying to do my own home in that aesthetic and it is taking a while to get comfortable with my maximalist leanings. I own my home but I am still terrified of putting holes in the walls!

I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed this! And thank you for offering a description. I’m not always up on the aesthetics terminology, but now that you mention it, I have heard that term floating around and I like it! I guess I don’t say “dark” because a big thing for me is allowing sunlight in lol! And don’t be afraid to get creative in your home! You are so blessed to own your space!

I love your home! And I absolutely love that we get to see how the spell works and how you finish off a working. I have been trying to manifest a better home but I have trouble figuring what it's supposed to look like. I will definitely be using your ideas. I love the curtain and hanging plants. I have always 2nd hand clothing until this year. I am tiny to begin with but thanks to menopause I've shrunk even more. I was pretty worried about buying clothes that would be impratical. I used Pinterest to figure out what I liked and if I would be pratical.

You might be a non-specific manifestation type. Try focusing on how you want your home to feel and go from there. You got this ✨

For the hot bath issue I used to do this at my grandma's house since she doesn't have a water heater. You fill the bath with cold water and get a big pot of water on the stove to boil then carefully take it over to the bath and dump the hot water in, it should give you a comfortable water temperature
@HedgeHearthAndHarvest4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip! But I tried this earlier on and decided carrying a huge pot of boiling water up a flight of stairs was not a great idea, so I’m good with waiting instead lol.

Stacking hangers using a pop can tab is a great idea! I have a 3' closet in the bedroom and usually layer tops over one another.

Word to the wise, they get very heavy, and stacking may unbend the hanger or pull down the rod if you have too many. Many clothing stacked will also reach and brush the floor - signed Been There, Done That.
