Hey Shane! Usually when you see a chord for a song that means that you should play the strum pattern once or twice through before you move onto the next chord. Does that answer your question?

Aloha! It’s actually easiest to strum down with the index finger and up with the index finger as well. You would just need to sort of gently grace all the strings on the way back up and keep your finger loose

im a complete beginner my troubles are 1. my strumming up is tough 2. i cant change between chords at all 3. forgeting the chords and strumming pattern and also if i spend 30 min a day how long will i learn ukulele in

First of all, you’ve got this! If you spend 30 min a day you’re going to be blown away by your own progression after a month. 1. Strumming up takes some practice, but if you focus and go slow I’m confident that after a few days you will start getting the hang of it. Just try keeping your finger loose. 2. Pick two chords, let’s say C and F. Just practice going between those two over and over again. Then try adding another chord when you get those down. 3. The strum pattern will eventually become second nature to you, but in the beginning try just doing 4 down strums on each chord and focus on switching between chords first. It’s hard to say when you will have “learned” the ukulele, but instead I would focus on learning a song that you enjoy playing or singing and then learn more songs that you’re interested in.
