I think people call it different because it's typically seen with that milk layer and the coffee sat ontop. With a frappe a photo is taken after it's all mixed in, SO I guess because the photo was taken at a different stage it's a WHOLE NEW COFFEE!! lol

Wow! In Mexico I was taught what was called a "Secretary's Coffee" (because supposedly Secretaries used to make it while at the office), which is whisking the ingredients with a spoon to make a frothy coffee, before adding hot water. It's delicious, and even an instant coffee's flavour changes a lot although it's not as creamy as this one. I shall try it next, thanks!

The coffee you're making it's called Frappe and it's from Greece. A little back story for the coffee: Frappé coffee (also Greek frappé or café frappé Greek: φραπές, frapés) is a Greek iced coffee drink made from instant coffee, water and sugar. Invented through experimentation by Dimitris Vakondios, a Nescafe representative in 1957 in Thessaloniki, frappé is sold primarily in Greece and is among the most popular drinks in Greece and Cyprus, and is available at virtually all Greek cafés. The word frappé is French and can be defined as 'chilled in crushed ice'. The frappé has become a hallmark of post-war outdoor Greek coffee culture.

This drink in particular, Dalgona coffee, originated from India, Pakistan, and Macau. it’s also known as whipped coffee or beaten coffee. I have looked at the FRAPPE from Greece you are talking about, and the ingredients are the same but FRAPPE calls for two teaspoons of coffee and sugar, and 2/3 cups of cold water. While they are very similar, FRAPPE looks to look more thin and foamy and calls for less ingredients while Dalgona coffee is thicker and calls for more ingredients. They are indeed probably related to each other and inspired. Thank you for you’re time. :)
