Yeah sorry about this. I did what I could but the zoom was laggy af. I prioritised context over re-recording, and I think that was the right choice. You can always play the games yourself in the description

Imma be honest, only 2 of these looked like actual games to me (magma blast and the crow one). Most of them felt like SUPER early on barely past concept stuff. like the vampire survivor one could not have taken more than an hour or two to make. maybe 5 if he did all the art himself. I was so surprised by how nice you guys were to the tribe game too, it was basically a nothing burger. Like what was even the gameplay? or story? or anything? It was the closest to rusted planet out of these games, but at least that one seemed to have a semi-unique vision and setting. Maybe I'm crazy, but when you compare the other games to the crowgue was it? its really obvious how most of them barely had a vision. I had this problem last episode too, where the games that clearly had far more polish and thought put into them and where I thought clearly the better ones got the short end of the stick. Idk maybe I'm crazy and stupid, I'm not the creator of huge AAA titles, but this just felt wrong in so many ways.

Sucks to hear! This was a game jam. Anyone had the chance to submit a prototype. The idea is that we can provide funding to these guys to continue to go further with their games. If we do a season 2, try your hand 🙏 I hope you enjoyed regardless

@@barj Oh I can't make games lol I used to work with game maker when I was like 10, and made some random stuff, but I can't even do that much now. I was mainly saying this in comparison to other game jams that I have seen, and while comparing the games to each other. Again though, Maybe I just have no idea what I'm talking about.

@@randompolygon8401 I want to jump in to say that I started game design about 2 months ago and I though it would be an easy, fun hobby, but it is a lot harder to do and its great to see all of these indie devs making great games.

@@mildlyinterestingtoad Don't get me wrong, I understand the process of making games. and I absolutely know how hard it is. But like, I've seen game jams, and there were like 4 eliminated games that I thought had way more potential than the excepted ones. Like the dating sim from the previous episode. or like another thing, I feel like they looked at every game as a prototype, except the driving roguelike, which seemed to have a lot of potential as an idea, and actually played like a semi smooth game already. Although for that one I might be biased, cause the dev seemed like such a likable dude. Honestly, my issue was that this was a competition, but they were they went about the games, seemed to be, Idea first, Idea second, Idea third. without even considering if the dev seems skilled enough to bring those ideas to life. Everything else from visuals, to style, to gameplay felt secondary to them. Like it was so weird how they hang unto the wall breaking mechanic being semi-useless, in the context of everything else being barely playable. So again, I am under no misconception of how hard making games is, and I do think so many indie devs trying to bring their idea to life is a great thing. I just wasn't the biggest fan of this as a "competition". Like Blackthornprod had hosted two similar competitions this year, and you can really see how much the devs did to make their games count in each week of the competition. Just compare the completeness and progress of them to the games here, and you'll see what I mean.

I do not think crowgue has more weapon variations then ALL borderlands games combinded only including mainline borderlands (1,2,3) games that would require the game to have 1,887,500,000 different variations in weapons 🤓☝️

My game review for mushy please update!!!!! Fun game, update idea even though he gave up on the game. New map, sniper body shot damage nerf, 2 shots with pistol to kill after being shot with the sniper. Fix B hopping do not remove it but make it so you have to time the jumps instead of just holding the space bar. The sniper is the best weapon Make it cost 5000 and make the bomb shooter cost 4000. Make the shotgun cross hare show spread. Thanks for making this game its lots of fun I hope you update it!!

I'm sorry but y'all was just dick riding. It was all positive, positive, positive, and actively avoiding saying anything negative to the developer. Point out the flaws, don't just glaze the developers the whole call 😅. Like sometimes you would ask a question, then one of you would just answer for the dev. Also what was the vetting process for this??? Some of the games presented were just outright asset flips with no substance... Games that are synonymous with the word scam... Sorry if I'm being harsh or mean. But if there is money being invested, you are allowed to be harsh.

Crowgue is the only promising game. Magna Blast was pretty cool too actually, just struggling to find it's identity.

Sad to hear you feel this way. The shoot lasted around 4 hours and we spent ~30 minutes with each dev. So a LOT was cut out. We tried to give each individual some quality feedback towards the end but alas this is a KZbin video - I had to draw the line somewhere. Most of these games had improved a lot since last time, and besides magna blasts’ performance issues a lot of our complaints from ep 1 had been addressed so it felt like some affirmation was in order. I might try and release an extended cut at some point. For the record I spent the month between these two episodes talking to our developers and making sure they felt well looked after and assisted in anyway I could. (I was under no obligation to do so). If you’d like to see those calls or the extended cut, let me know and I’ll see what I can do. I hope you enjoyed anyway, and I appreciate your feedback
