An amazing fifth tip is to stay sober. You can work out 4 days a week, change your diet, work 60+ hours a week for your family, get all the medical, weapons, and survival training, but one under the influence incident could uproot all of that.

I agree some of these high-profile cases that are brought uscca Under Fire lately excuse the pun have made that whole operation and outfit look pretty bad but honestly the two cases we have seen where it appears that something weird has happened we don't necessarily have all the information. I know that attorneys on retainer did a video where they covered one of these cases and showed that the gentleman who is the delivery driver down in Virginia I think it was who got involved in a shooting in a mall actually had to be assigned a public defender so that's pretty weird but I don't really know much more about that one and I think this is where it gets a little strange because there could be other stuff going on such as he provided incorrect information and invalidated his account through that company or there's another indictment going on or there's some sealed information and the DA has advised for the prosecution. This is the problem like I generally see eye to eye with people that are being critical of these insurance companies and I think attorneys on retainer is a better bet if you can afford it but we really don't know everything going on with these cases and neither do those lawyers over at that attorneys on retainer and neither does anyone else and if USCCA knows they might have a reason why they're not publicizing missing information as to why these two people did not have all of the coverage they exactly thought they were supposed to be paying for or receiving.

Point #1: scheduling down to the hour. I had a conversation with one of my 5 recently where I was explaining that I am the most productive when I set hourly goals of achievement. When I say I wanna do xyz this week. Doesn't work. Even if I try to say day 1 I will do this and day 2 do this, etc. Doesn't work for me. Most productive is an by the hour schedule that reaches a certain goal by end of that one day. Course sometimes I fall behind and I don't like to mentally give myself a free pass, but it isn't good to best yourself up too much either. Anyways just telling what works for me. One of my biggest demons in life is time management and drive to get anything done. Just saying I can definitely agree with the method you spoke about in point 1.

I will be 70 in 11 days. The reason I am bringing up my age is because what you do in your 20s, 30s, 40s, etc. sets up your quality of life when you are 70. My Dad died when he was 56, because of a bad life style. He had a high stress job, he smoked, he drank, he was overweight, etc. He was a great [bad] example. Because of my father I went in a different direction. I became a distance runner when I was in my early twenties. In my forties, I had to give up running because of degradation of my back and knees. I changed to doing circuit training in a gym. Because of what I have done since I was in my twenties I am able to take a three day Carbine course in my 70s. So, if you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s etc. please listen to Mike and follow his advice. You will appreciate it, when you are 70. I have been a USCCA Member for almost 7 years. There are some out there; i.e. Heavy Duty Country, that think we are nuts to continue with USCCA, but that is a story for a different day.

Hey man I love your content!!! But about high interval training it is absolutely essential, however for best fitness results steady state training in “Zone 2” or about 60-70% of your max heart rate for periods of 45 minutes HUGELY benefit cardiovascular health and health span. I would check that out. Not everyone has the time, and the rest imagine they don’t. But I have found that steady state training paired with HIT training and traditional resistance training has changed my life. Power to ya!

Always enjoy your content - thank you. But Mike ... you do realize most normal people have a full time job (or 2-3 jobs in this economy), right? Don't lose sight of the average Joe. Most of us barely have time to drink a cup of coffee or walk the dog these days, let alone embrace a 24/7 full on dedicated self improvement program. I'd love to have 90 minutes of HIIT / gym time, 1-2 hours to cook a great meal, 8-9 hours of uninterrupted, solid rack etc every day, but the reality is simply trying to make ends meet in this day & age is exhausting, and there's very little time left over to work with. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
