I used to work in a toy store. When I told someone the Hanayama level 6 puzzles were tree hardest in the store, with a 3×3 Rubik's cube about equivalent to a 4 and the larger cubes about like a 5, they always bought the Hanayama 6. I didn't recommend them to people who couldn't solve the larger cubes, but they usually bought them anyway.

I have Enigma. It's a very good puzzle, no hidden tricks, just here I am, solve me. Good resolvability too. Like all their puzzles, it's just as hard to put together as take apart. My first solve took quite a few hours. I really recommend it.

I lost interest in cubes and other puzzles some time ago. I still respect what it takes to solve different puzzles and puzzle makers for being able and knowing how to make puzzles. I'm just an ocd type and solve on cubes felt no different from one to thenext, I'll have to get back into it someday.

I know this video is a few months old but if you want to try a really challenging puzzle you should take a look at the Hanayama Quartet puzzle. Personally I think it is the hardest of the metal puzzles that I have tried just taking it a part took forever but putting it back together was a Mammoth challenge. It also looks interesting when you put all 4 pieces together.

there's no hidden tick in padlock. I have done it many times. It's complex but more of a twisty type honestly. It's not like News or Dial. It's very hard. Enigma should have taken him way longer.

I think I'm going to pickup Padlock, it looks like Hanayama Infinity, but Infinity was pretty easy to solve, I got it less than 15 minutes and a level 6 puzzle. Infinity was easy because there was only one way to move it if you were paying attention. Hanayama News is my favorite so far, it super easy solve if you know the mechanics, but impossible if you don't.

I eventually had to look at a youtube video just to see if I was on the right track for the padlock. It is pretty hard. I can do the same move twice with it and feel like I end up with different results. I did eventually get it apart but I had to cheat so much it wasn't very satisfying. Now I mainly use it for a fidget toy.
