The problem with Squidward's Suicide is at the time, it was a great creepypasta. It was one of the first lost episode creepypasta, causing it to become wildly popular and started the Lost Episode trend. People wanted the popularity Squidward's Suicide had that they copied everything that made it scary, and overused it. Over time a sea of "Hyper-realistic intestines" filled the creepypasta world, drowning Squidwards Suicide and leaving it to seem as a cliche. That's sad truth of what happens to all trend setters.

The thing though with squidwards suicide is that it's not creepy but sad and dark. We all know how hard Squidward's life is and that everything's shit and he's basically depressed. It's twisted yes but not scary. The backstory of the episode could be seen relatable to a lot of people surprisingly and that's what's so sad.

Plot twist: the first photo was supposed to be a "three weeks later" title card, the second photo was supposed to be a "many months later" title card, and the video clip was supposed to be a "so much later that the old narrator got tired of waiting so they had to hire a new one" title card (which explains why "DO IT!" was said by that deep voice instead of the French narrator), but they accidently put in those photos instead.
