You may need Premium. There are no ads. The ads break up the program and are distracting to me. Without them, I can fall asleep and sleep soundly. I don't like that it's what it takes, but it works for me. As an edit as I believe I may have missed your point: I do indeed find this subject very interesting and that's what drew me to the subject in the first place. I have seen and read too many items on the subject to count. It's that familiarity with the subject that I find soothing. Similarly, I used to fall asleep to The Simpsons because I knew them all by heart. But, even on DVD, the disk would play through it would wake me up when it stopped. With these videos, not only do you not have ads, but they are several hours long. The KZbin algorithm will also play you the next hours-long video it deems fit. In summarion; it is not boredom of the subject that aids my sleep. It's the opposite. I can even start the same video the next night where I know I fell asleep. As long as there's no annoying music in the videos, they're a godsend. A British narrator is a bonus! I learned just about everything concerning WWI and WWII in the same fashion. I hope this helps you to see the allure of these compilations for those who use them for this purpose. It's makes the $10 US/month that I spend for premium completely worth it.
