The Jet is excellent. I did a round trip from DC to NY during Christmas and loved it. It is the equivalent of a first-class air ticket. However, the part most people forget to acknowledge is the added convenience. You can get to your pick-up stop 5 minutes before the scheduled departure and comfortably get on. Also, you don't have to pay for travel to and from an airport and there is no time wasted in security or check-in. Being picked up and dropped off in the middle of the city is a huge benefit.

I love how The Jet capitalizes on the remote workers. Air and Rail have unreliable Wi-Fi at best. For people that need to work on the go, this seems like one of the best options!

how noticeable (or not noticeable) was the motion cancelling? i guess, is it more of a gimmick or did it really lessen how many bumps you felt by a good amount?
@_Ricky2 жыл бұрын
I'd say it was quite effective and made the ride quite comfortable. Certainly when I stood up to use the bathroom I found the ride very bumpy, but upon sitting back down it felt quite smooth
@Unknown_Ooh2 жыл бұрын
It feels no different than any other bus. Greyhound operates newer busses than "jet". It is slightly more comfortable than a Greyhound because of the space but not really worth the premium you pay.
@JimDean0022 жыл бұрын
@@_Ricky I wonder how it compares to the air ride seat in a semi. That's the same basic idea. You ride on an airbag which cancels out the motion. It works really really well
@poorlittlebiker64762 жыл бұрын
I’ve driven a few various types of buses from coach buses to smaller shuttle buses and some school buses. The air ride seats (that are typically the drivers seat in commercial vehicles) are far better than fixed seats. It’s not until you have a long trip in a fixed sit being in front of all your axles that you appreciate air ride seats…..assuming they are adjusted to you that is 😂.

The problem with that low density seating is you have to charge a lot to break even unless you can attract a lot of upmarket people and in my experience upmarket people tend to prefer rail and air.

Truck seats work when you don’t have to get up and walk around. This is a confused service than wants to be a clean quiet and smooth electric train, but isn’t. Definitely take the Acela.

So on a serious note, this is a premium traveling option for those who DISLIKE or a PHOBIA of air travel of any sort, BUT want the comfort and quality of going to different coasts. Because ultimately this is about the price of a plane ticket on average. Where’s air travel is faster. This could also serve as a good secondary option if flights decide to jack up their prices. It’s very situational.

Its not much of a "premium" either. They should learn from Indonesian premium busses on how it should be.

Looks like a nice experience and a great travel option. Not having to travel to NYC airports is always a plus. However, I still think the train is the most time efficient + comfort combination but train stations can suck as they are host to too many vagrants just outside and inside the station.

If you're thinking of investing, I'd wait. I'm not convinced they have the model down yet (I ride them three or four times a month). The 99 dollar price point has now become a 179 dollar price point permanently, and chstomers mow pay for beverages and refreshment. The customer base can't grow under these conditions - too much goes in favor of the train for now

$99 is a little too excessive for me for a bus to DC, even if it is in the lap of luxury. You still hit traffic either outside of DC or NYC. Personally, I'd save my coins just get a Megabus direct from NYC to DC for like 1/3rd of the cost.
@jerseydevil19952 жыл бұрын

I would argue there's almost TOO much legroom from the looks of it. If the seat went all the down to a bed or a true lounger that would make sense but this looks like a lot of wasted space that doesn't add to the luxury. The tray is also tiny for all that space.

That's kind of a cool concept, but honestly I'm not that impressed. There's not that many seating, which means it would eventually cost more to go this way because it's super convenient and you have to pay for the anti-gravity seats and the convenience of picking you up in downtown and dropping you off in downtown. I'd say they should modernize this concept for a train system and have these anti-gravity type seats in a train. This type of thing makes more sense as a private destination for business class. People that need to go from one work place another from one city to another without any commute in between. Again, this is a cool concept
