Fifty years of reading Sci-Fi, every genre, thousands upon thousands over the years. Books are not words, they unfold for me as realities, as if a film adaptation. The highest compliment I can give is seeing a film that matches or surpasses my imagination of it. Your work, and especially to capture what you do in short film, ranks at the top level of my experiences. Also, end of the world scenarios are enormously difficult to pull of well. You did it perfectly. P. S. the one person Ana AI was spectacular!!!

I think it might be that it is not a single subject channel. Like Sci-Fi, gaming, programming, music, .... But the variety that can be found here results in unexpected gems (e.g., The English Teacher). I feel the imagination of Blake and his team will someday produce content that will cause everyone to take notice.

From what I understand in the last part; the impact will happen on the mother side soon so she's calling to warned her daughter to evacuate to the safer place, but the daughter didn't take it seriously so she asks her to 'check under the bed' instead which I think there might be the underground passage to the bunker or to the ship like in Chinese couple's story. I might be wrong, but this film is such a masterpiece and deserved more than a million views already.

@@BlakeRidder Absolutely. I saw another commenter mentioning time zone disparities. They may well be correct, but it didn't really impact the story since none of these disparate parties interacted with each other. Obviously inspired by the film "Don't Look Up" I'm thinking. I still didn't get why the vicar turned murderous, unless he was already supposedly insane from the moment the couple met him, which I can't say the actor portrayed. I also wondered anew about what your Shanghai character was digging for, and why at that location? My takeaway from the final scene was the Russian daughter laughing off her mother's worry was so isolated from the world that she didn't realize that death was burning its way toward her from whever those pieces of comet/asteroid impacted. Mama and the rest of the world knew it, but she didn't...yet. I hope those two left in Sydney got to that bunker in time.

@@MisterG2323 thanks for the comment. If you listen. The vicar said about the purest souls. So by sacrificing Amber who didn’t really sin. The vicar believes he’d be saved

An impact of that caliber would take seconds to be noticed in every corner of the globe. I think it never took place. Anyway, in case that disaster finally had occurred, Russian girl is a winner. That's the only way to say goodbye: without knowing that you're doing it.

If money allows
@richparsons4205Ай бұрын
Um. The word is “til”; it is an abbreviation, half the word, “until”. The word “till” can be a verb or a noun, as in to “till the crops” or “put the money in the “till”. Just being helpful. 😁
@BlakeRidderАй бұрын
I appreciate your input! Actually, ‘till’ is the correct spelling in this context. ‘Till’ has been used as a synonym for ‘until’ for centuries. While some people use ’‘til’ as a contraction of ‘until’, ‘till’ is the traditional and widely accepted form. So, ‘4 hours till impact’ is correct. Thanks for the discussion.
@richparsons4205Ай бұрын
Interesting. That flies in the face of everything I know about the word. Ive been around a long time, 63 years so far, and I have never seen the contraction of "until" spelled "till". I suppose "till" could be the slang version, but grammatically speaking, it remains a contraction of the word, "until", and therefore should TECHNICALLY be spelled, "til". I don't want to detract from your movies, tho, which are quite good. Kudos!😊
