It sort of doesn't make sense though, in one aspect. The characters claim to be immune to future assassins when they go back in time; that when another Tim follows them back from the future, he opens up a new timeline that they're not in. But it has the same problem as quantum immortality. It operates under the rules that that Tim comes back into a version of the current timeline that the ‘originals’ are now immune to, but also that that Tim would enter a timeline with copies of those originals in it. Though, this is just going off what the original killer Tim says, and maybe he was just naively misinformed. Based on a first watching, oherwise it's a tidy series of events.

I don't think it was foreknowledge that caused that one Tim (TOT) to throw the clock at Murder Tim (MT). If TOT had known Holly knocked at that specific time, then he would've answered already, causing Holly and him to enable a relationship, disconnecting him from the chaotic timeloop that we saw. It was most likely caused by the "cosmic mechanism" to remove duplicates mentioned by MT at 22:31. Not only did it cause MT to trip and shoot himself, it was probably the mechanism that allowed the coincidence of the clock being placed to prevent the timeloop that allows for more duplicates.

@trevorama5 жыл бұрын
Vegarot Fusion Synchronization was key. We also used “Tennis Ball Tim” (a stand with a tennis ball on top) to ensure the right eye-line. Love your idea of getting a couple copies of Holly. Too bad Tim didn’t think of that. But then again, Holly may not have been too keen on the idea. Steins Gate for the win! Thanks for your feedback!
@riversonthemoon9 ай бұрын
I quite enjoyed that. Seems pretty self-consistent, with a nice little exit off the madness. Some concerns though. In the implied first loop (which we don't see), the interactions between original Tim and the first returning Tim must have occurred later than the second loop (which we also don't see), when black-jacket assassin Tim comes back, because original Tim had not arrived home yet. So that second loop must have been different than when murder Tim came back. The second loop must have had just two Tims initially (black jacket and returning Tim), and were later joined by original Tim after he came home. This provided an opportunity for murder Tim to come back before original Tim arrived home and trick first returning Tim and black jacket Tim into thinking he was original Tim. Follow me so far? This causes some problems. Would first returning Tim not be surprised to find a Tim in his house at a time before he arrived home? What conversation was murder Tim remembering to convince black jacket Tim to hand over the gun? Not saying these aren't soluble problems, but they do leave the (overthinking) viewer wondering.
@trevorama9 ай бұрын
I love it when smart viewers like you get deep in the time-travel weeds. Great observations! There’s a line in the film where second Tim is confused about the timing of when he originally came home but was immediately distracted away from following that train of thought. That’s the same thing that would have happened. As for the conversation that he references about the gun, it probably wouldn’t have been exactly the same, but given the players, it would have been similar enough after everything played out. Glad you enjoyed the film. Thank you for your trenchant questions!

Okay, here's how I interpretted it: The black-jacket Tim said that the rest of Tims became more broken and broken in his timeline.. I believe that it was directly related to the *number of Time Travels* .. The wine Tim traveled once, so he's fine.. Just a bit hungry.. The black-jacket Time traveled once too.. but he just barely escaped a Tim-massacre, that's why he's a bit crazy.. Then the scarf Tim traveled twice.. he was originally the black-jacket Tim who traveled back again.. so he's the craziest of them three.. and the only reason he wore the scarf was to hide the wine-stains. He must've gotten the stained t-shirt from wine Tim when they spent the last timeline together.. that's why it already has the stains.. *I found it clever how the writer used a simple clock to stop the loop.. great job!!*

Well Shot! Trevor and Team. I am the oldest of Eight siblings. WE! are just like this! I am 69 now. Nothing has changed. Each of us is 'smarter than the others'. Six boys. Two girls. They never give up attacking me with their 'knowledge'. None of us will ever concede defeat. And I will never stop from trying to win. My only problem is that I have to face SEVEN OF ME! And that! Is not Fun!

This is actually really well put together and written. Usually, after watching a time travel film you can work out plot holes or things that should've happened but didn't given the multiple timelines but this one covers all the bases. Very well done.

I loved the film, but I have to call attention to the particle disruptor. I spent enough hours playing with Nerf as a kid to immediately recognize the mounting track on the top (the decorative modifications made the whole thing look awesome, btw). It really showed that despite the movie having far less of a budget than other comparable short films (many of which are shorter), the heart and the effort put into the coreography, writing, and special effects really helped to compensate in order to create such a great film!
@trevorama5 жыл бұрын
A Day in White I really appreciate your kind words! So glad you enjoyed the film. As for the particle disruptor, Tim also grew up with the Nerf guns and loved them so much, he designed the particle disruptor after them. ;) But seriously, thank you for taking the time to leave such a great comment!

The part at around 8:30 is amazing use of the theory that if you were to go back in time to interfere with your timeline, physical barriers would prevent that from happening , aka the cosmic mechanics thing, I interpret that is why the gun suddenly stopped working, amazing detail😁👍

Wow Great great great short film, I think the best I have seen. How does this one only Have 4K views??!! I wish I could make something even 1/10 as good. I might try to make another short film, only this time much less amateur, and using more than just my iPhone 5 and 2 apps lol.
@kiddicarus5 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, but to specifically address your question here: "How does this one only Have 4K views??!!" (currently 1.4K) I'm thinking it's due to the amount and qualities of other short films on at least this platform, on channels such as "DUST". Again, I do very much agree with you and others who have experienced similar experiences in regard to this short film. Thank you very much to everyone involved with it and everyone who has expressed a level of appreciation for "TRIPLE TIMe".

Cris O No she would have been there in the original timeline as well. But in the original timeline there was no clock on the floor to delay him from going into his basement lab, so he wouldn’t have heard her knock.

I know that Tim will probably forget the complex equations needed for the time machine but if he can figure them out once he can probably do it again meaning he can still go back in time

True, but maybe... just maybe, Holly fulfills something in him that was missing, and he realizes that time well spent is better than time manipulation.
