[4] How to make an air raid siren

An air raid siren is used to provide emergency population warning or call the volunteer fire department to go fight a fire. The electric motor in my siren comes from an old vacuum cleaner.

The shocking part is that you made the motor from parts and that you used metal for the rotor unlike most home made sirends which is wood or plastic of some sort. Good job. Now if only you could get that motor up to higher speeds.

You need to rebuild one again with a stronger motor now, and make the chopper and stator a tighter fit together, but not to where they scrape. Then it will be louder. But beautiful job.

The chopper is spinning the wrong way, if you can get it to spin the other way, it would be a whole lot louder

The big problem with the is the amount of gaps between the chopper and the stator. If there were no gaps, and it was made out of thicker metal, it would way louder.

Two ways i know how to make this thing louder is: 1. The rotor needs to be closer to the stator. 2. The motor has to be faster.

It seems like the metal in the stator is a little too flimsy as it has buckled from the air pressure from the rotor. Could use bracing or thicker material.

u need to get the siren shopper as close to the rotor it will get u a much louder noise and the top needs to be close to the shopper too
