Cabin restaurants were also famous for young couples who loved to look into each other's eyes away from the inquisitive gaze of the masses, coz at that time going out with a boy/ girl before marriage was looked down.....cabins were also famous during the naxal movement, where major plannings were done by naxals....truly they are a heritage which kolkata walks into

For me Nahoms's rich fruit cake is love ❤️❤️, for chicken cutlet I will anytime love Campari which is inspiration taken from schintzel , and there are many more heritage food like Allen's kitchen prawn cutlet is must try as it's totally fried in Ghee and tastes like a food from heaven .

We had a most discourteous experience in much hyped Flurys! When we stepped in the gateman's curt greeting was: Restrooms are out of order! The manager was completely nonchalant. We walked out never to return to reliques of colonial India. The fastfood joint across the road was enjoyable. Kudos to Wow Momos.

Standing in yesterday looking towards tomorrow this is Fluries if Calcutta I have nostalgia for this city not because I am a bong but this city reminds me of our beloved Nawab who created a replica of our loving Lucknow who kept our Awadhi culture alive till he lived & above all he was a great foodie he was victim of his genrocity to east India company won't write in capital letters they because since they owed him a big amount they hatched a conspiracy against him he wah true rangeele Nawab way Nahoom !

Bhaiya mai kolkata se hun aur me coffee house ka coffee aur mughali paratha khaya tha... Coffee pura gatiya dudh kam aur pani hi pani aur mughali bilkul bekar taste.nahi sehi se sesoning hua tha..nahi sufficient stuffing tha...pura thag liya...yeh kabhi accha hua karta tha aur bass ab naam se chalta hai..aur ek nostalgia bhi hai..yeh log iska fayda utha ke loot rehe he....

Basnata Cabin & Coffee house had lost their charm long time ago giving in to stale & tasteless food! Flury's has retained its quality but very few can afford it & Nahoum's too is overhyped these days! For cakes it's better to leave central calcutta & move towards south kolkata. Plenty of good cakeshops at a reasonable price & for cutlets north still rules starting with Mitra Cafe.
