Nice video, I installed this 4-in-1 ESC. If flip this ESC(upside down) and Battery connector toward right side, the motor number can meet normal setting. No need to reverse any motor with 3 cables just fit the ESC output layout. I think their manual is miss leading.

My fc is the lux v2 and has a ground next to each motor spot. Since the 4-1 wire connector has only one wire for each motor and it’s grounded from the 4 in 1 correct?

Hey JC, you powered the flight controller from the voltage sense wire. With that said, do you know how much current the voltage sense wire can handle? I'd like to be able to power my fc and prosight from there so it goes through the current sensor. If I solder on to battery cable, like my current setup, it will bypass the current sensor. If you know anywhere that has that information that'd be great. I don't have high hopes, but if you have that information, that'd be great to know. Thanks

anyone know a video explaining how to setup the current sensing part of this? I followed this great video for my RacerStar 4 in 1 that seemed basically identical into a flip32 f4 v3 flight controller which i believe is what is used here but for the life of me i can't get the amperage to show. is the current setup needing to use a UART and if so which UART is on the crnt pin?(doesnt seem as though the crnt pin on my FC is tied to a UART.) if it matters I am running DSHOT600 and ibus. Hey JC. I just messed up my ESCs. They were working fine. Then decided to upgrade to BLHELI 14.9 from 14.4 - I used the same exact firmware BLheli suit read which was flycolor 30A something. But then I found out they are based on Blue 20A ESC firmware according to product page(RTF black mini 30A UBEC ESC). THen after the flash, BLheli suit is not seeing the ESCs. I tried FTDI mode, Betaflight pass thru, Ardurino Nano, none sees the ESCs, so I cant try to flash different firmware . Do you have any video for these kind of issues?

Figures i just went through all this the other day.Only i have a currant and voltage sensor on the racerstar shot 30a 4 in 1 esc and not sure where to run those wires if at all.has currant and volt sense in omnibus betaflight f3 v1.1 with osd / barometer.I ran voltage to F3 from battery to vbat.

The Flight controller "Arrow" is pointing what appears to be, out the side. Is that your intended forward? Could that have caused your rotation reversal of the motors?

Could you do a vid on what your opinions are for the stuff that Kababfpv talks about. About his hyperfloss frames being super tough if built light. It's just so unconventional that I need another KZbinr that I trust to confirm his theories and statements. It just sounds to good to be true that if you build light ( his frame 4-in-1 ESP micro vtx regular cam and sub 30g motors for a dry weight of 250g) you get durability and super performance

Right. You would either have to use a different 4 in 1 with a current sensor, or individual ESCs with a flight controller that has a current sensor like the Omnibus Pro, Betaflight F3, or DYS F4, or some other one.

I used to oil them using the Scorpion bearing oil. But it makes a mess. Bearings are cheaper nowdays so I just replace them if I dont damage the motor before they go bad. Its about $5 a motor to replace bearings.

You mounted the FC's forward direction to the left which is probably why your motors had to all be switched. It makes sense for this build to keep the wiring short but how does that affect your flying? or is there some kind of betaflight magic you have to perform as well?

David Clute, you can rotate the flight controller in any orientation. You just need set the yaw orientation in Betaflight to adjust for it.

hello there, i am looking for parts to build my first drone and for esc i am between racestar 35A 4in1 without bec and racestar 30A 4in1 with 5v bec. For the 35A wiring if i connect my battery to esc bat pads and the vbat jumper wired to fc power B+ will all be ok? Is it wiser to pick the 30A racestar 4in1 and if yes any advise for fc selection? thanks

there is a thread in rcgroups that suggests to remove the ldo from this fc as it gets too hot even without powering anything else from the fc and use a 5v external bec to power it. Does this have any merit? I have the omnibus f3 powerd from vcc I have no issues so far.

I've seen where many guys are running it that way but I just run it the normal way. All the motors were reversed just how how the ESC circuitry is run.

Thats what is common but the problem is that it spins grass and debris into the camera. Supposedly, having 1 run CW and 4 run CCW, it helps.

so how do you wire a 4 in 1 esc with the dys aio fc. Because both the fc and the 4 in 1 esc needs to be connected to the main battery lead.

You would have to use a 4 in 1 that has a 5v regulator, then wire that into any 5v pin on the DYS F4. But if the regulator isn't rated high enough, say 3 amps or so, then you wouldnt be able to power the camera and/or VTX off the DYS. So I would recommend just using a flight controller that doesn't have a built in PDB.

(a banggood clone) but I do not find any diagram that specifies the characteristics of how to weld .. do you have any prospect that has the same characteristics of this FC? I thought it was the same scheme as the OMNIBUS flip 32 ... but I'm not sure ... then I bought these engines ... Brotherhobby Returner R5 2207 2400KV 2700KV 4-5S Brushless Motor ... from 2700KV ... but I have not been careful and are the threads of the crankshaft all in the same direction .. does it involve anything? Or is it enough to invert the welding order in the ESC of the two external wires of the motor? another thing can you tell me what are the 2 6-pin and 3-pin ports of this FC? thank you so much

They're not bad. I actually think they are stronger than the normal 5" arms that comes with the Valorem. But these are made mostly for racing and in racing the crashes aren't so hard so it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't freestyle with the arms.

Well on the good side it eliminates any solder problems that may happen doing individual ESC. I tried the 4 in 1 and was surprised how smooth it was. I also changed motors so probably not a good comparison. So far it is working for me but ya if one esc goes out I am done. Otherwise I usually go with the TBS Bulletproof or DYS.
