Nice one. Thanks for that. 'Er indoors has been nagging for me to put up an extractor hood in the kitchen, so now I know what to do, I suppose I don't have an excuse any more. Going to hire a drill and cutter next week. Thanks again, and please keep the excellent videos coming.

Won't that dump lots of hot wet air into the wall cavity?

It would make more sense to drill the pilot hole from the inside of the property (don’t use the hammer function while going through the plaster/less mess). You then have a pilot hole on the exterior of the property and can drill from that direction thus venting the dust to the exterior of the property rather than venting the brick dust onto all the soft furnishings of Mrs ó Ceallaigh’s front room. If you aren’t suffering from Thiamine deficiency or Korsakoff’s Syndrome then you might want to start the diamond core (with pilot) from the inside just to break through the plaster neatly. Then swap out for the longer pilot, then continue from the exterior for the least possible mess and least possible making good. I’m Welsh though so what do I know.

Exactly!! and if you tape up a black bin liner on the inside wall, there be no dust or mess inside too. I also plug the inside pilot hole (tissue paper is fine) before drilling thro from the outside, to again prevent dust driving inside the property.

Nice job.. Every time I see a nice brick wall like that in England I think of Winston Churchill and his membership in the bricklayer's union there.

U forgot to say when drilling with the bit in the middle of diamond cutter to take out it when u start to drill the wall in a bit as it will get losed down the cavity

it helps to drill a few holes once the core cutter cuts an inch and makes it much easier.

our bathroom has an extractor fan but it only goes beyond the first brick into the cavity? surely this can't be right for the moisture to go in between the walls??

OK, I'll bite. What is the purpose of this grill? I can see the house has a window right next to the grill, so I'm guessing it's not for ventilation. Seeing how there is no tube between the two grills, I'm really at a loss.

Maybe instead of opening the window for security reasons it could be to help air flow for a furnace

You use a level ruler to check the electrical drill if horizontal. But, it seems not later. In the old battery operated drill. It used to have a level but unfortunately it is deleted in all new ones.

good job. don't like them dry cores. wet coring is quicker and cleaner. that hole would be done in 5-6 min including sleeving the hole. no need for guide holes as you'd be coming from outside straight through to onside. zero dust.

Well done. The ONLY thing I see wrong is this. That looks like a TE-74 or TE -76 (hilti) Used that'll set you back 1,000.00...Core bit appears to be a Concord..there's another 80 quid. SDS max to SDS Plus adaptor ...another 40, pilot bit another 30 quid. If you are going to use this only one time it seems rather expensive.

Howdy, greetings from London, up the Dubs. Just a quick question {PS did you ever get any 6011 rods for the LIDL welder or is Ireland still like Cuba lol}...we have a problem in work, management are a bunch of arses and the plumber needs a core drilled trough rebar concrete slab to get the waste into the basement. The hole is 5" max diameter. I have the same Hilti that you are using plus my own DeWalt Flexvolt breaker {the biggest one they make} Is there any chance that any of these cores like the one you are using would, however slowly, get through the slab, or am I wasting my time. LIke I said, the management cocked up and Holemasters won't come back out to the site to drill just the one hole so I wanted to give it a go myself. Cheers. TK

It is called dry core bit, for cutting bricks and cinder block it is ok, but for cutting concrete (cured concrete) you should use a core machine with water through the bit, the inside wall he cut was cured concrete, typically you should use wet cutting with that, otherwise your diamond bit will fail very quickly
