Hope you all enjoy watching me use these DIY fire bellows. Maybe you can make use of some of these ideas. Please leave your comments below. Thank you!

You can do the same thing with an extention magnet. Then put it back together in case you loose a screw or something from your cook pot, a needle while repairing something, etc in the woods or high grass or water. I retrieved things from the bathroom sink on occassion or a screw that got away and dropped behind the outside steps. Good multi tool.

Just go to an auto parts store & buy one of those telescopic pen magnets or mirrors, both are like $2.

Really favoring the pocket pen as a redundancy / multiple purpose item. The extension makes it a winner. Have a thin brass tube with slingshot rubber tubing that makes it compact, flexible and packable. The metal tube nearest the fire.

The first couple were a little out there, it that roasting fork was nice. I got an old radio from a thrift store for a buck and cut the antennae off, and put a wad of tape around the mouth end. I used a good bit so it would be easy to seal around my mouth, and it also held emergency tape,

Good job James. I did a small review of a pocket bellows in my last video. I liked yours better. Way more info. An old Rabbit Ears TV antenna works well also. Thanks for sharing pal. God Bless.

I have a little plastic 2 way manual baloon hand pump from a Paper Card Factory Outlet Warehouse Store. You pull it back and it blows out and push it down and it blows out. I always keep it handy with my edc stuff

@@WayPointSurvival I was thinking it would work really good with the best bellows you did here, the nozzle would fit right in the end of that roasting fork! Bet I could pick one up at the $ Tree Store

Copper tubing that will fit in your backpack. A piece of clear tubing that will fit over the copper tubing tightly about 3 ft long. Makes a great Bello.

I have multiple fire kits. In each car, Get home bag, Car camping bag, etc. The telescopic bellows (in multiple forms) is a key element of all my Fire-Kits. I've never seen the roaster-fork, but will keep a lookout for them now! Thanks for the tips! - NEW: I have just recently built a flexible blow-bellows with a 3' piece 1/4" ID Silicone tubing. I cut a 2" piece of old aluminum tent stake for the mouthpiece end (firms it up, allows for holding it with your teeth. Otherwise it collapses.) And a 4" piece in the fire end (which I'll try closing it down as recommended in this vid). Silicone tube is good for 500 deg F. I am really liking the flexibility of this blow-bellows. Thanks for the tips James! Link to Photo of my flexible-blow-bellows in my Google Pics: photos.app.goo.gl/8LZSQuwP97SUuHk9A

pocket bellows bought off Ebay are now like $3 each, for that kind of miniscule outlay why bother building your own, unless you have the parts just lying about. Plus the actual pocket bellows are telescoping reducing their overall size so the fit more easily into fire kits.

True. I had the stuff lying around and so do a lot of folks....so I showed how to make your own. The store bought ones are usually smaller and purpose built but if you want to make your own...well you saw the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@rnupnorthbrrrsm6123 no one is asking you to, buy BEFORE the situation, but you already know that. I am sure we have all commented on youtube in the past which doesn't reflect how we feel now......

Idea: If you are concerned about the small metal pieces being too cold for you lips, just put them in your pocket for a few minutes then in your armpit or similar if still too cold.
