Thanks buddy, Started to take mining classes first of week. I came home and found my wife very, very, sick. Had to rush her to hospital. She is on a vent right now. My children have sit with her so I could get the classes took to start my new job. And when I'm done I drive straight to hospital and stay with her until I ve got to leave again. Your videos and a few others shows have kept my mind busy. You help so many in ways with your videos, yet you touch others in other ways and don't even know you do. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you.....

I can't say I share the same fear. But maybe you should look into some horticulture and animal trapping. Helps drastically improve your odds if you have or can find the land. But it will also make you an asset that can help provide for a community.

@@killiotta1 I didn't say we were vulnerable or that i didn'thave skills. I don't plan to help my community. There's not much of one here. I'm just simply saying that I'm worried of an attack. An this Channel helps drastically with anxieties of the unknown.

Excellent video as always. My fire starter kit, also includes a Bic lighter and Ferro rod. I also have a plastic waterproof prescription bottle filled with dryer lint soaked in WD 40. A small piece about the size of two bits gives me around 2-3 minutes of burn time. I also have a waterproof plastic container of homemade "fire cookies". My grandson named them, when we made them together. Cotton rounds dipped in a solution of melted candle wax, WD40, and food colouring to help find them if dropped. These are ideal if it's wet outside as they also float and burn. Burn time is around 5-6 minutes per cookie.

Shawn, thank you. Thank you for your channel. Thank you for you being you. You are authentic, you are sincere, you are dedicated and devoted to what you show and do. You are ever ready and eager to share your experience, opinion, skill and knowledge down to the minute detail. You don‘t say buy this, buy that. You give solid feedback and opinion, but leave the audience/viewer to decide…“something to think about“. You are tireless to show things step by step again and again; fire, knots, water, shelter, builds … and always they are a way but never the way. Keep it up! Best instructor ever!

If it's windy you could shave Fanwood shavings onto the sticky side of duck tape to keep them from being blown away and help the duck tape get kit by lighting the shavings with the ferro rod instead of going to the trouble of tearing it into thin straps to expose the fibers.
