Props 🤜🤛 to Claire for mentioning Origin. I’ll never forget back in 2000 when I listened to Origins first album I was freaking blown away and each album that came out after it kept topping the one before it. When I thought 💭 “They can’t possibly get more brutal.” they would make me eat my words. AntiThesis and Echoes of Decimation are probably my favorites. I’ve seen them live 4 times and they play faster live! John Longstreth the drummer for Origin is one of the best Tech Death Metal Drummers (Drumming In General) I’ve ever heard. Watching him live he plays like he’s bored 😐 like what he is playing is child’s play to him. I know he isn’t bored and that’s just his drumming body language from focusing on what he’s playing but it’s like he is a machine. So to wrap this up... Origin is an Original sounding band that I respect very much and I had the same reaction to Archspire as I did Origin the first time hearing them. So to everyone in Origin and everyone in Archspire: Thank you for everything! You guys are a big inspiration to us musicians and make living life awesome!

I tried practicing the spontaneous generation intro with pull offs at first, and yeah that's way harder than all hammer ons. You'd need to put your ring finger onto the fret at the same time as your tapping finger, which is just hard to coordinate. Also, playing spontaneous generation on a six string is fun lol
